I love the first Thorin one, it's very artistic, and blends very well.

I do like your style, and it does work very well. In some, it does feel very busy, like I don't know where exactly to focus on. Like there's too many pics to go from one to the other. Other than that, I like all of them.

Thanks Erin! And yes, some are busy. Thank you for commenting. However I notice that most graphic makers (including you) also tend put in around three pictures into their banners, as this is the norm.

Yeah, it has gone that way. Blending pictures is fun. I'm sorry if my comment came off snippy.

The one I was talking about, was the Boromir one. Were, it's about four or five pictures on my count, and to me personally, I didn't know where to focus on. It's not a criticism, I don't mean to come off that way at all. I do love the whole concept of it, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying change it or don't make them that way, because it's completely down to the artist how they choose to make banners. It's their vision.

That's just how I feel.

You have some really great work here!

I like your style -- you seem to have a good handle on blending and textures. This is my favorite:
Image
The coloring, text, and pictures all work together to make a wonderful graphic.
My other favorites are the Elgarain banner and the two Aragorn banners below it. There's a nice soft glow on all of them, and do I see a hint of a rose design on the sides of the Elgarain banner?

I agree with Erin that some of the banners look a little busy, like the Boromir one and the Sam one.
I like that you're trying a unique style with more pictures, but you shouldn't feel like you have to box yourself into one extreme because other graphic makers are using fewer pictures. Just try out different styles and find what works for you! :D

Thanks Ariadne!! :)
Yeah I totally agree with you guys. The Boromir one was pure experiment...first banner ever. And I personally don't like the Sam one either anyways...I was in a bad mood so i was like, whatever :duh: But anyway...thanks for the awesome comments :-D

(Oh and also, I was wondering. I recently upgraded to a newer version of PSE, on a different computer, so I have like, zero good fonts right now aside from the default. So. Does anyone know a really good free font site that I could look at??)

My favorite fonts are all from dafont.com

I once downloaded like 1000 at once, and find I use only a few of them consistently. However, you can do them one at a time as well.
Some of my favorites are: Last King Quest, Windsong, Porcelain, Jellyka Castle's Queen, Jellyka St Andrew's queen, Jane Austin, Felix Titling, Fancy Pens, and Book Antiqua

Dafont is easy to browse by style, so if you have one style you like more than others (like calligraphy look versus grungy look) it is easy to locate different varieties on that one style.

ALSO the fonts here at A-U.com are also excellent (Hobboton, Elven Speak, Tolkien, etc.).

Hope this helps your font problem ;)
