Hey, nice piece of work!

I have been wanting to find time to get into graphics but just have not had time. :)

Thanks for sharing, it is cool to see other people's work. :)

Do you start woth an original photo and edit it or how do you go about creating your graphics?

Well this is great question!

Well I have a stock of Lord of the Rings/Hobbit images and many others from other fandoms.
(I just didn't know if you'd like to see any non-Tolkien art)

So I have to have an idea before anything. Then I get inspired or the mood for creating so then I go through my stock (images) and I find a specific character, scene, or what have ya. Then I look and try to see just about how to bring the images together or if an image is good on its on then I will not add and then just do an edit. So I do both.

So then once the photos come together in a blend then add effects and thus a completely new image.
(If you do enough edits a photo can become your own.)

I also support you to try to get into graphics as it is quite fun.

P.S. I also was confused by own image part but I believe you meant that since the Galadriel has two images that you called it my own image.

I also for a year made a wallpaper a day and that improves you skills as an artist. I was given that advice from a fan-fic writer about writing for 5 minutes a day. Same thing just different art!

I hope that I answered your question. It was a great question and I appreciate your interest!

Cool. :) Yes, that certainly does answer my question.

I have tried a few edits and a few combination images. The simple stuff I can kind of get a handle on but some things get more complicated than my skill but it is fun. I enjoy seeing other people's work more now, knowing what they have put into it.

That might be the proper term. I am not very knowledgable on the terms and such. Those are pretty good, though! :) they look very clean wothout the cut and paste look that I always tend to end up with.

Well I learned terms from people telling me, and there are some I don't know.

Thanks for the compliment that made my day

Just keep practicing you'll be a great artist!

I've done copy and paste walls and you can make them great with a little more work added.

I also learned this on my way, I am my worst critique and I will hate a wallpaper but I post it anyway and it becomes a hit with everyone else.

*nods* yes I am defenitely critical of myself. Lol

Well, I will keep practicing when I have time. I do better at the edits than cut and paste but there is so much more possability woth cut and paste.

Cool. :) That would make a perfect desktop background!

You should edit the first post and add all your links there so anyone else browsing your thread doesn't have to search through all the posts to find you pictures.
