Well I'm really really bored so I thought, what the heck, I'll post up some of my art stuff up here. Most, if not all, of it will be icons. I'm a total icon freak actually. Anyways, all of this stuff is already up at my website...but like I said I'm bored so I'm posting it here as well ![]() Firstly, some of my LOTR icons: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Ooo.. very pretty! The colors make them a lot more interesting to look at! That the main reason why I never make avatars... mine always end up as just a cropped picture! ![]() |

Okay sure! I'm not sure what program you use but I used photoshop...so I'm not sure if this technique will work in other programs..But anyway here's how it works: 1. Duplicate the image that you want to edit and set the layer mode to screen, you may have to do this a few times to make sure that it is light enough. 2. Make a new layer and fill it with a light-blueish greyish colour and set the layer mode to Exclusion 3. Make another new layer on top of this and fill it with a darker blue colour and also set it to Exclusion. 4. Merge all the layers together and then duplicate this layer and set the layer mode to multiply And voila! I hope that makes sense....you can play around with the colour layers to see what works for the image and get really cool effects. ![]() |

Ooh, the colouring is beauiful. I think I might have come across that tut, actually. Or one similar. I never really managed to get it right, though. Maybe I was just using the wrong pics. ![]() Just going through my LJ memories... was it this tut, by any chance? Probably not... I'm just guessing. |

Sorry, I can't access the livejournal website anymore! I'm at boarding school and the school computers all block Live journal sites! Grr...anyway, its quite a popular technique I think so I'm sure there are several tuts on it! ![]() |
