1. How do I screencap with Windows Media Player? Can I...?
2. Do I need an animating program to make those movie icons?
3. How do I take clips from full-length movies?
Can someone answer, please?

I can only answer a couple of those questions. 
This is how you can animate in Windows Media Player, taken from Sapphire: Quote: Anyway, I just figured how to screencap with windows media player....right click on your desktop. You'll see a menu. Go to properties>settings>advanced>troubleshoot and then set the hardware acceleration to nothing. Presto! The print screen button will work now!
And you do need an animating program to make the movie icons. If you have image ready (a program that comes with photoshop) you can use this tutorial: http://www.arwen-undomiel.com/forum/vie ... php?t=3252 |

Also, it works with Animation Shop... and there is a free proggie called Windows Animator (I think o__0) but I´ve no clue where to get it, sadly. And for the third one, check Haldir´s thread as it´s on the first page of this section.

When I change th troubleshoot or whatever it really messes my computer up...any other suggestions?

You can't screencap with media player, you can download a free trial cyberlink power DVD if you google it (then set your clock back and the trial won't run out - you do that by double clicking your clock). For ripping dvds I use DVD ripper wizard, because it rips protected dvds, you can download it if you google it and though it's a free trial it has no time limit
