lately ive been a bit obsessed with doing animated avvies ... its fun :) ... well there are only so many movie clips i can find on the net to do them, so i was wondering if anyone knew how to take clips from my own DVD or a movie i have saved on my computer? :confused:

Try something movie-editing, like Movie Maker (it´s bound to be somewhere on your PC..) or scn caps.

Windows movie-maker then. I´ve used it once or maybe twice but I´m pretty sure you can "crop the movie" with it

ahh sorry for the dp, but i want to save it as a QuickTime file, but it can't do it ... any way i can fix that? :confused:

Sorry, I don't know Haldir :( I'd love to find out though! I still don't even know how to get the movie to open up in Windows Movie Maker :(

Same here - how do you get a movie clip from your DVD into Movie Maker? :blink:

Somewhere in the File menu is Import to library, or something in that style, the comp Im on doesn`t have Movie Maker

guys search for a dvd ripper. you can save croped DVD parts as quicktime, and some other files.

try HandBrake
or Smart Ripper

they are both free. PM me if u need additional help.
