Post subject:  Animating Avatars

I had a question about animating avatars. I see a lot of people that have little clip-its of movies on avatars. Do you need a certain program to do that? And how do you make them?

D you mean like this: (1) Image Or like this: (2) Image
I made them from music videos - you need them in avi or mpg format for PSP/Animation Shop and mov for Photoshop/Image Ready.I think you use PSP..?

Idk where to find good vidoes, but once you´ve got one, open Animation shop, go to file>open, and choose a random amount of frames. I usually take around 500, but if your comp is slow, take 200-300 frames.

A sncap if it helps.. Then just select all the frames, crop, resize, get rid of useless frames ... Well, whatever you wish to do with the thingie. Save as gif.

This is how you make the first avvie..
For the second one, it´s pretty much the same, just a few adds.

When you save as gif, resize & crop the avi/whatever gfx your making. Make it 4 or 5 times smallr than the original one.
Save as something else.
(you have the bigavie.gif and croppedavie.gif, for example)
Open them both, select all the frames

Then with the Arrow tool drag the frames from the smaller av to the bigger one... and that´s about it. :-)

Sorry if I kinda suck at explaining, heh... Hope to have been helpful, though :P

I think I understand mostly, but I don't really get how to get a video on your computer and then into Animation Shop. This is my first time trying to figure out video clips, so sorry if I'm slow. Um, do you have to download them from the internet or do you have a different program you have to use to get them?

I download them (sssh, it´s p2p!), then just open like a normal file (File>Open), it usually doesnt make any troubles..
Also .avi movies (DVDrip) should work...

Another way is screen capping, then just animating pics...
