Yay, someone to help me revive this thread!

Yeah, Lost and LotR are pretty much Dom's only major roles... I saw An Insomniac's Nightmare which I would have extremely disliked had not he done a brilliant job [as usual] in it.

And even though it's a horror movie [and as a general rule I dislike horror] I might go see I Sell The Dead. Might being a key word. My dislike of horro and my love of Dom are going to contend I know.


So do you watch Lost much?

I'm bumping this because I have an URGENT need to share some Dom quotes with someone. Urgent I say, urgent! Fangirl in distress! Bear with me people, it's getting bad enough that I need rehab. But Dom's perspective is just priceless... it adds a whole new light to teh other actors, ahahh!

:rotfl: *collapses helplessly in gales of wild hilarity* I can't help it--he just has that effect on me with all the funny things he says. lol... Currently, i'm writing a lotr fanfic in which Merry is one of the main viewpoint characters, and it's been really fun trying to capture his personality, which is of course a lot like Dom's.
As to how much Lost i watch...Well, my sisters and i only really started watching it last October, but even tho it's started up again we can't really see it, because its on starting at 10pm. A pity, to be sure (especially since Dom being on it was one of the main reasons i wanted to start watching it).
"Funnier than a penguin playing a banjo..." How about a penguin tap dancing? (If you've seen Happy Feet, speaking of various hobbits...? ) lol

YES, I have a response!! EM, you have no idea what a lifesaver you are for me right now. I dunno where all the other Dom fans went, but this thread helps me keep my sanity.

You know you can watch it on ABC on your computer, right? [Lost, that is.] I have the link if you want it. But yeah- it's a great show. Crazy enough, I DIDN'T start watching it for Dom, I was just bored the day it premiered... and yeah, the premiere hooked me. And actually I saw Dom on that before I saw him as Merry. But I like him equally in both roles, he's just a brilliant actor! How he plays the role of Charlie Pace is just i n c r e d i b l e ! ! Charlie is just an awesome character anywya, and I can't say I wouldn't like him if someone else played him [cuz he's just a cool character] buuut! Dom just puts to personality in Charlie.

Did you see that episode where Sawyer steals Claire's diary, and Charlie and Kate go back to get it? That was the point when I fell in love with Charlie and Dom. Kind of like the Entwash scene in LotR [which was where I realized he was SO underestimated]. You're just all 'Woah, this guy is amazing! He's not just some ordinary has-been rock god, he's a HUMAN!'

Ah yes, aren't Dom's quotes hysterical!? HAHA! I pretty much fall off my chair every time I read the Viggo one. Or "I'm Orlando Bloom." Hah! Among other things, he's the wittiest LotR actor.

OH, Happy Feet! I saw that just the other day! Sooooo cute! Yaya Elijah! I can't decide if I like Frodo or Merry better, they're both so close to my favorites. I love ALL the hobbits really. Speaking of hobbits, don't you think Dom has the most hobbit-like ears of anyone? They're SO cute! [his ears that is]. They remind me exactly of a hobbit.

GASP! I MUST read your fanfic! PM it to me, or post it here, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaase?!

Wow. I can't say i'm not used to (and 'guilty' of ) the enthusiastic gushing of a fangirl, so to speak, but it's kind of a new thing (for me) to encounter it about someone other than Elijah. (Hope you don't mind me saying that---i mean it in the best way. ) Rock on, my fellow Dom fan!
Hmm... Yeah, i was aware that you can watch it online, but so far we just haven't gotten around to it. We'll have to do that sometime, tho. Could you send me the link if you don't mind?
No, i don't believe i've seen that episode of Lost. Sounds good, tho. (I did see the one where John--i think that's his name...you know, the older bald guy--is trying to communicate with Charlie about need ing to 'talk to the island', and at one point Charlie misinterprates it as talking to the trees. "I'm sure they're great conversationalists." It makes me wonder if perhaps in that scene Dom was reminded of the fact that 'trees' never say anything unless it's worth taking a very long time to say...hoom hum. )
I'm glad you liked Happy Feet. I loved it. (To me, Mumble looks so much like Elijah, and it's not just the eyes. The shape of his face is similar, too...) I hadn't really noticed Dom's ears, lol. *looks at FM's banner* I guess they are kind of Hobbitish...
I'll be happy to pm you my fanfic as soon as i finish it. Presently it's still in the works, but hopefully it will be done before too long... Right now i'm working on some major revision, and fixing all the plot holes is somewhat mentally exhausting! (Speaking of 'somewhat', that word a lot of times reminds me of Dom, just b/c he has an interesting way of saying it, i guess... Don't you love his accent? )
Personally, Frodo will always be my top fave, but i'm glad i've come to like Merry as well.

OH! I know that scene, and on an interview Dom said it DID make him think of the Ents! Hahaha! In fact, I think the writers sort of put that in there for a joke. But yeah- the scene with Claire's diary is totally priceless! Oh, let's see if I can describe it to you. Charlie and Kate go to get Claire's diary from Sawyer, and Charlie is all upset because he thinks Sawyer has read it. Sawyer responds to this by saying something to the extent of, "Oh, wouldn't YOU like to know what she said about you?!" He [Sawyer] then proceeds to read a mock entry, saying, "Dear diary, I'm getting really freaked out by this has-been popstar. I think he's stalking me. The little limey runt just won't let up." Charlie makes a grab for the diary, and gives Sawyer a small punch to the shoulder, and Sawyer rares back and knocks Charlie flat. Charlie responds with a negative comment about Sawyer's punching, to the extent of "You're a wuss", and Sawyer would have hit him again had not Kate stopped him.

Gosh I love that scene. Me + that scene + repeat button = hours of entertainment.

Aye, Mumble DOES looky like Elijah! In more ways than just the eyes. I agree, I think it's the shape of the face. And also the way he moves his mouth when he talks- very Elijah-ish. Dom's ears, ahah. I mean, they're roundish or something. Really cute, whatever it is. Ah! We haven't had a picture in a couple of pages! Nooo! Musn't let that happen precious!

You know my favorite Dom pictures are probably the ones of him with the Ring. I love all the ones of the LotR people with the Ring, but Dom, Lij, and Billy's were my favorites. You just can't beat hobbits. *nods* And then the ones of him and Evageline are always so cute. See, unlike most fangirls out there, I'm excited about him marrying Evi! I think it's great! They are too cute together.

Can't wait to read the fanfic! Aye, Dom has a marvelous accent. I love the way he pronounces certain words, like, "understand" and "handsome".

Ah yes, the accent... We could go on for ages. (Glad to know you're looking forward to my fic btw. ) You're not alone in being glad for one's favorite actors when they have girlfriends/fiancees... Elijah's dating Pam Racine (as far as i know) and i'm happy for them. It shows maturity in a fangirl. (Contrary to popular believe that 'maturity' and 'fangirl' don't belong in the same sentence... Well 'maturity' can belong at times-- i don't know about 'sanity', tho... )

One pic of Dom i like is that one on the poster for Ringers: Lord of the Fans, where he's holding out the Ring to the viewer. I saw that one at ORC last year when i went (as well as this year), which was at a time when (as i remember) I was first starting to realize that Dom had started doing 'that fluttery thing' to me... You know, the internal butterflies and such. At first i was kind of perturbed, but now i've accepted it, and while 'perturbation' has not necessarily ceased entirely, i've come to enjoy the feeling.

Aren't they cute together? I think you and I, EM, are a more mature sort of ganfirl. Although, admittedly, still fangirls, haha. I'm so happy for Dom and Evi though, because they look so darn cute and happy together! And I'm estatic that they're getting married!! It doesn't seem like most actors these days will actually tie the knot... so this is pretty cool, in my opinion.

I know what you mean about the butterfly-ish feeling. I get it quite frequently while looking at a picture of an actor whom I consider cute. Especially Dom. I mean, just look at this...

I just found a YouTube of the two best Charlie scene's ever. The first one is when Charlie is trying to get Claire [pregnant girl] to move to the caves, and she won't... so he says if he gets her peanut butter, she has to. He can't find pb, so he brings imaginary pb. The second scene... Charlie's got Claire's diary, and is struggling hard not to read it.

It made me wonder if he was thinking of Evangeling in order to portray Charlie talking about Claire. Speaking of which (once again lol), that was a neat pic of Elijah and Pam... *is momentarily out of it, seeing as your banner was going thru the 'Frodo section' * Nice pics of Dom, too... Yes, we may be mature fangirls, but we're still fangirls. Oh--i hadn't heard very much about people picking on his appearance...well, i don't tend to know as much about him, or haven't until recently , so i can imagine you would probably have heard more than i did. Acually, i rather like the smaller type...almost waif-ish, at least sometimes... *glances at banners* (Btw, what does your dark brown-reddish Frodo banner say? I can't make out the text before it changes... lol)

Edit: Thanks for the offer to critique my fanfic, but for now i think i'd like to keep it 'under wraps'. lol (Besides, i have several other friends who are looking forward to seeing it as well, so i'd feel obliged to show whatever part you were crit-ing to them too, which would kind of be a lot of work. ) I'll keep it in mind tho--thanks again.

Yeah people pick on his appearance a LOT! They say E. Lilly makes him look like garbage and all sort of spiteful things. Like... his nose is ugly, he has pasty skin, he has no abs, his ears are big, he's too short, his teeth are crooked...

Good grief, how can they not see he's one heck of a handsome guy? People are just jealous I guess, and have nothing better to do than make fun. In fact, I haven't read a SINGLE article [and I've read a lot] where someone says something good about Dom's appearance.
