Its not that I have anything against Martha, its just that I think her character from Doctor Who is going to have a hard time fitting in. Its like Jack. He's so much darker and foul mouthed in Torchwood than he is in Doctor Who. So I'm worried that she's not going to match the show. it'll be interesting to see how she does though.
Owen in a cardgan? Ohhhh....that's so cute. I might have to starting liking him a little bit more.

Oh I just saw this week's episode. It was a bit sad, this one. I felt a bit bad for Owen. It really helps my belief in vegetarianism, this episode did though. Even though I doubt our meat suppliers are using alien meat...but are they?

In Doctor Who, its a very clean, family friendly, no swearing show, whereas in Torchwood there's as many f-bombs as there is blood, and everybody has a hard time keeping his or her pants up! She either has to change dramatically or remain kiddishly clean.
Yeah, that's pretty much what I was thinking. Also, she's a bit too wimpy for the Torchwood aliens if you ask me. I mean she can handle little things like giant rhinos on the moon, but can you really see her going up against a sex alien? I can't.

Speaking of Ianto, for anyone who saw him in the episode, "Meat", does anyone agree with me when I say he was just awesome. The way he just walks into the office, kicks the door open, knocks the guy off his feet, stuns him, kicks the guy out of the other guy's hand, stuns him in the head, and coldly walks away.
By the way, Toshiko has just gotten like much more outgoing with her relationships, has anyone noticed that? First Tommy, then this ginger guy.

^ "hallam foe" and "the chumscrubber"? does that mean you're a jamie bell fan too? *gets excited at the prospect of someone to share her love of jamie with*
anyway, i watched "meat" yesterday, and yes caunion - ianto was awesome. a little scary, but awesome. and his comic timing is fantastic. i thought john barrowman's acting was appalling though. he was just too...theatrical. to be fair though, some of the lines he was given were atrocious.
and yay for a double episode next week!

Good chance of SPOILERS below...
I watched Meat. Okay, the alien looked ... pathetic. Felt bad for it, though.
I didn't think that JB was that bad... but I was distracted by the waistcoat and the fob. ...? What was up with that?
Well, next week's episode looks interesting. Wait, no, it's episodeS. Yay!

Not yet, I've never seen any of his movies. But I was browsing Flickr when I randomly came upon a picture of him as Hallam and looking adorable in the badger hat, and it went on from there. I haven't watched either though.
"Meat" was... interesting. I agree that the alien was pretty lame looking, it took me most of the episode to see any resemblance to a whale.
I wasn't overly impressed by JB either, but the "This is quite homoerotic" line was gold.
Ianto was awesome (as always). His whole "We could release a single" thing had me in stitches. I loved the scene where he knocked out the two brothers... that was badass.
Next week looks interesting. A good bit of it looks hysterical, but what was that with the insane Ianto in the preview for "Adam"? And did he really say
"I killed three girls and it felt so good"
WHAT? I'm really hoping I misheard that...

I haven't watched either though. you'll have to let me know what you think. i've seen every single one of his films, and in my opinion he's certainly the most talented actor of his generation. a few more choice roles and he'll go down as one of the greats. he's just so natural, and he has a really magnetic presence. timtimtimtim wrote: I wasn't overly impressed by JB either, but the "This is quite homoerotic" line was gold.

those lines floored me, too. the script writers have moments of pure comic genius.

Well...since I finally only saw "To The Last Man" today, I figure I should comment.
(I missed it last night because I was no where near any place that had BBC America XD) I watched it online (obviously), and it was very hard for me to not watch "Meat" right afterwards.
It was good. Tosh was loverly as always. Wasn't very memorable save for Ianto and Jack. Really sweet conversation they had. Rather touching. The kiss was just icing on the cake.
I have to say, the only thing that stuck out at me - struck a chord with me, was when Tommy and Tosh were in the bar and he was watching the news on Iraq. For some reason, seeing that (the newscast) was really haunting -- really grounding. Can't really explain it. I suppose its just such a horrible nightmare that one wants to hope you'll wake up and it never happened, but to see it on something like Torchwood kind of gives you a reality check. Which is kind of odd if you think about it.

I know! Just imagine yourself in Tommy's position. Woken up once a year...A decade would only be ten days! We all think that the wolrd is going to get better "eventually" but in his position he sees that we just keep repeating ourselves.
I'm hearing a lot of cool things about Ianto! (*gasp* the last post I made didn't even mention Ianto's name! I think I'm getting sick!)
Crazy Ianto sounds like fun. I like my guys a bit unstable in the head
The Jack/Ianto scene was great, but it felt so odd. I was wondering why, and I came to the conclusion that for most men, the most effection they will desplay to eachother is a "hug" that consists of ramming into eachothers chests and then attempting to crush the life out of eachother for about .5 miliseconds, so to see two men being so tender to eachother was different and so sweet. They are probably the cutest couple in the history of the world.
