My friend has recently turned to Doctor WHo (Well, actually David Tennent). How old do you suppose DT is? 25? 24? Maybe an opptimistic 23? No! He's 35! He doesn't seem that old to you, does he? I was shocked.

But yeah...I'm verging off topic (sorry) I'll admit, this is a little off topic, but Serenity was what was originally thought of, and Firefly was just made up after the original movie idea, so it would technically be a kind of spin-off of Serenity. Anyway, I'm done with that part. Nauriel Rochnur wrote: My friend has recently turned to Doctor WHo (Well, actually David Tennent). How old do you suppose DT is? 25? 24? Maybe an opptimistic 23? No! Really! I would have guessed maybe 25 or 26, but not 35. I guess the fact that he has soooooo much energy makes him seem younger.

My friend told me he was in his 30's, and I was totally shocked, he looks so young! Maybe it's just his skinniness and mad doctor excentricness, but I wouldn't believe he was over 25. Anyone know how old Eccleston is? He's gotta be pretty old cos I think he was in prime suspect, or cracker, or some old crime program.

Yeah, he definatley has a youthful look about him. Some people have that...and it just sometimes irks me. Gah! I would definately have not said 35, but at the earliest in his late twenties, early 30s. Looks good for his age. Well...duh. Ha ha ha ha. Definately his energy and eccentricity helps. I suppose being an actor...especially playing the Doctor, you are "allowed" to act like a little kid. Yay!! The secret to youthfulness, don't act your age! Ha ha ha!
So, I can see him at maybe 30...but 35?! No way! Ha ha ha...he's just lying.
CE 43?! Good lord! Well, that's actually younger than I would have guessed...but then again...bah! See! It's that Doctor-ness about him...projects him as younger. Ha ha ha. Oh my goodness. I saw him on a new episode of Heroes last night...well, I didn't actually sit through the entire episode (...24 anyone?...Ha ha ha!) But, at each commercial I would flip to NBC and caught bits of CE...kind of had a freak out...kept thinking he was the Doctor...scared my roommate with my screaming, "OH MY GOD! He was the Doctor!" Ha ha ha! Then it was immediately back to Keifer...of course.
OH! And...a bit off topic...I think you can download full episodes of Heroes on the NBC webiste. Not sure though.
Kess, Prime Suspect! Oh my goodness, my mom was like obsessed with that. Ha ha ha. Crazy world.

I absolutley adore crime dramas and books, its getting seriously obsessive. My mum started getting scared once I started searching the libraries for books on autopsies
Now, guys, I could seriously do with your help. For my RE class, I have to write a paper on role models in the media. I'm focusing on TV drama characters, and I obviously can't get through the thing without mentioning Doctor Who. So, the question being, do you think the the Doctor is a good role model for people? Help would be hugely appreciated!
And I've found an update on the series 3 front, courtesy of the TW LJs. However it's from the Sun, so you ca't really trust it.
Quote: Also on Eye of Horus website it says the Sun claims John Simm will be reprising the iconic role of the renegade Time Lord, the Master. Whether this would have anything to do with how Jack ends up back at TW I don't know but it would certainly put paid to the theories of Billis being the Master.
The return of the Master? Should be interesting...

I'll ponder your question Kess and get back to you.

Oooh...that's an interesting topic to write a paper on. And of course, you can't leave the Doctor out. I may need to think more on it...but personally, I'd probably say yes. A certain quote come to mind, Quote: "But it was...it was a better life. And I don't mean all the travelling and seeing aliens and spaceships and things - that don' matter. The Doctor showed me a better way of living your life. You know, he showed you too. That you don't just give up, you don't just let things happen. You make a stand, you say no. You have the guts to do what's right when everyone else just runs away."
The last bit is my favourite. But I'll continue to think on it.
The return of the Master? This should be interesting...if it's true.

The Doctor is definatly a good role model. Sticking up for whats right, never giving up without a fight, be loyal to your friends....He's probaly the best rrole model on television.
I love that quote. The Doctor is a really big role model. I;m not going to be here on Feb 2 because my friend and I are having a Doctor Who party. I'm bringing bananas.

Of course bananas are much more interesting!
And the Jack Doctor banter is so brilliant, especially the screwdriver convo. Though apparently they're gonna argue big time when they meet again. Thats gonna be a brilliant finale, Jack and Master!
A doctor who party! That must be so fantastic! My friends frown on my Doctor Who geekiness, so I don't think it'd work too well. I'll celebrate with you by watching reruns, eating banannas, and driving my famil up the wall with the incredibly annoying sound of my sonic screwdriver

Heh, we'll do our part by humming the Doctor Who theme tune at school. Or asking one of the builders if we can customize a portaloo
