I started out with Nollan, but I want somthing a bit more powerful, and a touch flashy. I'm searching through arab names (I love them so much!) but so far I havn't had much luck. I just can;t choose the right name. Graaaa
What genre is it? And behindthename.com is a great website that sorts names by origin, and gives the meanings. I've been using it so much in my novel. lol

Hey, I just checked out that site you posted Elenya. And I checked out my name, and I think I was destined to be a writer, because two very famous writers share my name.
That's a really cool site, thanks for posting.

No problem! I love that site so much, it's so helpful. I just looked up my name, and middle name, and unfortunately didn't have any writer namesakes. lol

I checked it out too. It looks like it'll be very helpful. ^_^
I don't have any namesakes at all. How sad.

One thing I like to do, for names, is to change existing names and mangle them to my purposes to create something new. I also occasionally use a name from a game, or use a name that is real. My latest mangled name is Kriste, from Kristy.
Names from games like World of Warcraft are really good to use Especially because they're not copyrighted.
An annoying thing, though-I was playing WoW and found an NPC (Non-player character) with the name Lorelae Wintersong. Now, what is the name of my book? ?So that was depressing, I though I'd come up with something ompletely new. Oh well.

That sucks. lol Once, I was watching a tv show and the name of a goddess on it is the name of "God" in a fantasy book I'm coming up with! That ticked me off! lol

I do the same thing! Like, in one story, I've used Eryk, Marii, etc.

Can you help me?? I've got writer's block (I think) and I've tried various things (like leaving it for a while ... haven't written for months ), but nothing seems to help! I also can't put in a major twist in the plot, cause everything's already, well, programmed I suppose. You see, my problem is I know what I want to write, I just can't phrase it!

It happens to me, I've done 18 pages and have only just started writing again. I think it helps to read through it all, plan what you want to happen next and follow that through, then do the same until you get to a point where you're happy to carry on without doing that all the time. Also it helps sometimes to let others read your story, so you get another perspective and maybe more ideas. *Shrugs* That's what I think anyways.

what I use to do is write down at the end of the story what I want to happen next, and then I eventually use it later:) It's quite helpfull, really.

I've been thinking of ideas for the second book before I even finish chapter 2 of the first one, but I can't think of ideas for the first one. XD
