Work started back up for me on Thursday. For the kids Thurs and Fri were half days, but for us full days...or so we thought. Thursday was, but a surprise awaited us on Friday when the Head of School announced we weren't going to have a meeting after all and could go home! So I was back by 1:10pm. What a treat!

I've been wondering, what does everyone like to do for lunch when at school (assuming college) or work? Do you tend to bring lunch with you, or buy it?

At my job, I can order lunch on Tues and Thurs, and occationally when there's a fundraiser I can on other random days. Otherwise I have to bring my own. Sometimes I bring a sack lunch with cold sandwiches or such stuff, other times leftovers or instant ramen soups.

I'm not much for cooking at all (baking is a different story though) so I always make it as easy for me as possible. If I bring lunch it's usually only a sandwich or leftovers from the day/evening before or I go 'out' for lunch.

I'm about the same as Eru. I don't usually have time to cook. But I either make a lunch, sandwich or something. Or I buy something. If I do buy something...it's not much. I am a college student after all. But, I do bake. I love to bake goodies. Especially banana bread...which ends up being a great lunch.
Depending on the leftovers...they are usually a yummy lunch. Ah...and the ramen noodles. Whoever invented them should be hugged and kissed.

In Germany you have to attend school for 13 years if you want to pass your A-levels, so I'm still a "normal" student [I'm in my last year now, finishing in May and then going to university ]. In German my kind of school is called "Gymnasium", I think it would be "grammar school" in English.
As we're in school from about 8 am till 2 pm, we don't have lunch at school. So I just bring sandwiches with me each day.
However, when I have to stay longer because of my sports lessons, I usually buy something in a snack bar (mostly pizza ), as I live quite far away from school and it wouldn't make sense to go home for lunch.

Well, I can't add anything new to this. I bring sandwiches or leftovers.. or occasionally I buy some food at the cafeteria or a snack place, whatever is the best. Packed lunch is so very boring... but one's gotta eat... The lunch arrangement you mentioned, Ivreniel, sounds like heaven. Every school or work place should have a decent and cheap cafeteria or other choice of lunch!!
Did anyone mention ramen noodles? I try to avoid them... Not that I have anything against the noodles... they're alright, but the concept... It's cheating, lol

well...since I work at a school, where the cafeteria food as every cartoon and movie show...is less than appetizing some days... I tend to bring my own lunch. Now, I will on occasion buy a salad at our cafeteria, but otherwise it's usually some sort of fruit, and soup for lunch, unless we have some easy leftovers that will re-heat in a microwave.. However, contrary to the stereotype our cafeteria ladies are very sweet...but making meals for that many students on a budget, limits what they are able to prepare.

(Ea, think it's because of a banner above..it's longggggg. Captain Faramir, if you'd be so kind to shorten the width of your banner when you get a moment, it's currently over 1000px long and stretching any page you post on.)
