I think I would like to join this club, I like villians and criminals and all that lark, as for a list of a few of my favourites here you are:
Dario (henchman in Licence to Kill)
Fenster (The Usual Suspects)
Krycek (The X-Files)
Zoran (A view to a kill)
Merrick (The Island)
Darth Maul (phantom menace)

1. Sauron - Lord of the Rings
2. Darth Vader - Star Wars Original Trilogy
3. Ra's al Ghul - Batman Begins
4. The Witch King of Angmar - Lord of the Rings
5. The Mouth of Sauron - Lord of the Rings
6. Magneto - X-Men
7. Markus - Underworld: Evolution
8. Alec Trevelyan - GoldenEye
9. Dr. Merrick - The Island
10. Sean Miller - Patriot Games
11. Voldemort - Harry Potter
12. Count Dracula - Van Helsing
13. Smith - The Matrix Trilogy
14. Hugh Stamp - Mission Impossible: II
15. Dalton Russell - The Inside Man
Note that 7,8,9 are played by Sean Bean and nearly all of them are British or Commonwealth actors.

I just remembered we can't consider Ra's al Ghul or Magneto as villians. Officialy they are anti-heroes.

btw Raistlin is an contriversial case, I am not saying that he was ever a good guy, but in the end you can`t count him as a bad guy _________________

Eh...I wouldn't be too worried about Barbossa. He's not so much good as he is opportunistic. He sides with whomever best suits his purpose at the time. I'd go into more detail, but alas, this is not the place for detailed PotC discussion

I think the term villain aplies to anyone on the opposite side for the hero. For an example Scar from the Lion King - kills his brother and drives his nephew away and takes over the pride. Does he think what he's doing is bad? Probably not. Is he against the hero? Yes. Then he's a villain.
