*raises an eyebrow* Cannibals? lol
I started learning how to play the Irish pennywhistle, but haven't practiced in a long time. School and such, I got busy. I really should make the time to practice some more.

I'd like to join! I'm at least an eigth Irish, and because my older sister loves Scotland more than Ireland, we have an ongoing debate about which is better.
Go Ireland!

I definitely want to join this club. I lived in Dublin, Ireland for 6 months back in 2004, so Éire definitely holds a special place in my heart. I love the country, the culture, the language, the nature, the music, the people - everything!

Oh! Oh! Oh! I've gotta join this!
I don't know why really, but about two years ago, I just really got interested in Ireland. I think it might have stemmed from my love of Irish accents lol. So I started reading up on their history and culture and stuff like that, and I've been Ireland obsessed ever since. I really love their music too.
I'm pretty sure I have some Irish blood in me, but I've got so many different cultures mixed into my family I could never be sure.

Yeah, I'm essentially a little bit of everything. Ok, everything European even though I don't live in Europe.

Welcome Artemis!
I love Irish accents too. I got hooked on Ireland several years ago. I was going to write a fantasy novel that took place in Ireland. lol

That's really cool! I've actually been working on a historical romance that takes place in Ireland.

Someone at our Church told me this once:
Everyone's Irish. Scots are the Irish with no brains. Welsh and British - them, they're just the Irish who can't swim!
lol...

Yeah I love the music too. I have always loved traditional celtic music, but recently I just got into some other types of Irish based music. I'm not sure what genre you'd call it... Irish rock/folk fusion maybe *shrugs* But one of the bands that is really great is called Flogging Molly. Anybody heard of them? Some other groups that are basically the same kind of music are Dropkick Murphys and The Tossers.

Can't forget about Riverdance
I first heard of it and became a fan of it in 1994 when Michael Flatley and the Riverdance crew performed as an intermission act at the Eurovision Song Contest which was held in Ireland that year.
I had the privilege of seeing the live Riverdance show back in 2004 when I was in Ireland. One of the most incredible nights of my life

I'm going to see The Chieftains in concert next week-I'm excited about that!
I've watched "The Best of Riverdance" DVD-now I want to see a live show! If they come anywhere near me I'll be getting my tickets as soon as I can! lol
