Yeah, agreed. Alternatively, I was sure I had joined and then it turned out I didn't. :teehee:

What films have you all seen then with Mr. Rickman?

Die Hard
Robin Hood: Prince of Theives
Truly, Madly, Deeply
Sense and Sensibility
Galaxy Quest
Harry Potter (1-3)

Well then, it's time we made this club more active, eh? :)

Robin Hood: Prince of Theives
Sense and Sensibility
Mesmer
Harry Potter [1-5]

I really want to see Dogma and An Awfully Big Adventure as well but they're both rated 15 and I'm hesitant to watch them.

Have you heard Alan sing in his newest movie Snowcake? I think that's what he was singing for at least... anyway, he sounds heavenly! :swoon:

The only reason I saw Die Hard was that it was edited. :eyeroll: By the time you take out all the language, it was about 3 minutes long, and that included 2 minutes of credits.

No, I haven't heard him sing in that, but he sang a little bit in Truly, Madly, Deeply.

I would really recommend Galazy Quest. He is absolutely hilarious in it. It's such a funny film, and he really does steal every scene he is in.

Yes, that's why I'm hesitant. He does seem to do a lot of movies involving language and sexual situations that I'm not entirely comfortable with just yet. [No matter how much I love him. :P] That's what I like about Sense and Sensibility, it's a simple sort of love.

Oh, I'll have to rent it then. :) He steals every scene in every movie he's in anyway, but I've never seen him in a comical role before... definitely sounds like a movie worth seeing.

Hmm, yeah but I don't think he appears in those sort of films more than other folk. ;)

Oh, its such a funny film! It's great because it pokes fun at science fiction geeks, and he plays a once Shakespearean actor who know plays an alien in a really bad science fiction TV show. So you can probably imagine that he is not too happy that people keep coming up to him wearing what he wears on the show and quoting his character when he used to get six curtain calls at a time! :teehee: And then of course the story takes a new twist, when real aliens come and take the "crew" back to their planet as they believe all the TV shows they have been watching are really "documentaries" of these brave people who fight bad aliens....

That's true, and he's very professional about it. That's what I like. :)

Oo, sounds intriguing! Sci-fi stuff like that is always a bit silly, but I trust your judgment on it, so I'll definitely have to check it out.

By the way, I just saw HP 5 again today [yes, I know how much you don't like it!] but I have to say his acting never falters. He steals every scene from Daniel Radcliffe whenever they're together.

Ordinarily, I absoultely loathe sci-fi films, can't stand them, so maybe because this one pokes so much fun at them, is the reason I like it.

He and Jason Isaacs are the only reason I would ever watch a HP film. I saw the bit in the trailer with Umbridge questioning him about his teaching.....

"and you applied for Defence Against the Dark Arts four times and failed"

....

"obviousssly" .

:teehee:

Gah! *dies* He's amazing!

You should see him during the few Occlumency scenes. Especially the bit with Snape's Worst Memory. He completely berates Harry and his father and then Harry breaks into his memory [unlike in the book] and we see a short bit from that chapter. Snape's so angry when it's over, but he doesn't yell. It's not like Alan Rickman to yell. He's got this quiet sort of anger that would definitely scare the heck out of me! :P

*SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE*
Oh my god! I canNOT believe that there's an Alan Rickman club and I did NOT know about it!

:duh:

WOW.
So, I'm just going to join in with you guys and blabber on about how utterly amazing he is.

I've seen him in:
Sense and Sensibily
HP (1-5)
Galaxy Quest
Love Actually
Die Hard
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves

I can't remember any others off the top of my head. But in all of those he's just brilliant. And he DOES steal every scene in Galaxy Quest. Well...he steals every scene.
GAHHHHH and his VOICE! :swoon:  :swoon:
Makes me weak in the knees...and I feel really awkward saying that because he's like...61. But, whatever. He rocks.
OH!
So, I just HAVE to tell this story. So, a couple years ago, my friends and I were having dinner and somehow we got on to the top of my so called "Old Man Fetish" (which, in itself is a really long story...that started with me sleeping with Plato)...and then we started talking about Harry Potter. And I was saying how much I ADORE his Snape costume. I quite honestly think it's the coolest thing ever. And I was saying how much I would love to have a costume like that. And one of my friends said, "Well, why not have his?" And so that started the conversation of how I would get it from him...and ended in me saying, "Well, I'd just rip it right off his body!" And just at that moment, one of my other friends walked up to join us and all he had heard was "Alan Rickman" and my desire to "rip off his costume and run away.."
SO...yeah. Now its a running joke with my friends that I want to rip off Alan's clothing. ;) Ha ha ha!

*SQUEE*

YAY for Alan Rickman! :D:D:D    :D:D:D

@ Larael - Well I might just have to watch those scenes then. When the DVD comes out if you could give me the exact times he is on screen, so I don't pollute my eyeballs with any unnecessary Potter-ness. :teehee:

@ Monty - That is a great story! And I have to agree with you about the costume, 'tis awesome. In fact, I had almost forgotten that that is not how wizards tend to dress, but in Snape's Worst Memory when he gets turned upside down, they don't wear trousers or anything do they? :teehee: And also in GOF when some wizard is trying to get another to wear a pair of trousers for the World Cup, again I had forgotten about the robes.

I know what was off topic, but I have all these questions about the books, and I can't talk about them anywhere because of DH and the fact I haven't read it yet. :-(

Oh goodness, don't we all? :teehee: His voice is his most amazing characteristic I think. Apparently he has some sort of speech defect and abnormal jaw tightness which is why his voice is so... perfect I guess. Makes me weak at the knees as well. :swoon:

And who cares if he's 61!? Most films do a good job disguising that fact anyway. :P
