Hm...I'm not in charge of the club. But I don't think it would hurt anything. Just make sure some of them focus on protecting the enviornment, just to stay true to the club.

I was just asking if ye would like links to a few Animal-Rights sites. We don't have discuss animal rights, I just wanted to know if anyone was interested.
Just because I started the club does not mean that I am supreme ruler and everyone has to do what I say or else. This is a club for the people by the people; if ye know my meaning. A club does no good if it doesn't have/do what the people want.
I am asking the thoughts of the people of this club so that you may be represented and served as well as possible. Just because the title of this club screams 'Save the Trees' does not mean we can't donate a fish to the dolphins. If you take my meaning.
It t'was just a suggestion. Have a vote if ye like. I need more than one thought to put it on the list; 'else I do the chosing. This is a democracy!

PS: I did not mean to offend anyone in this post. I'm sorry if I did. I may be the President, but the Bill must pass through Congress first. That is my humble opinion.

I think that's a fine idea Wandering Darkness! Because afterall as a global community protecting the trees and the animals is important...
I'm reading this book called " Suistaining the Earth" (For my enviromental studies class and there's a section on "Humans and the Enviroment" it says:
"We should try to understand and work with the rest of nature to sustain the ecological integrity, biodiversity, and adaptability of earth's life-support syustems for us and other species" In lamen's terms, we should help everything to survive!
My professor gave us over 50 enviromental websites: Here are some:
www.grist.org
www.enn.com
www.earthcharterusa.org
http://www.envirolink.org/
I just had to throw this one in for the heck of it:

Are you angry with me. I didn't mean to insult you in anyway! I'm so sorry if I did. I didn't realize I'd said something bad. I probably should've chosen my words better.

I'm not angry. In fact, I thought you were angry with me. I'm sorry, I tend to be a little (a lot) blunt upon occasion. It was just mere suggestion. It is hard to convey emotion over the internet without insulting someone.
Okay... anyways...
I just watched the Discovery Science channel and they had a 2 hour program on Global Warming. Did anybody see it? We could have a discussion! yay! Anyway, at one point, they were talking about how much an average house hold emits(sp?) CO2, which about (ready for this?)... 50 tons (I think). Wow! That is a lot!
But if you
- replace 60/40-watt blubs for energy-saving florences
- turn off electronics while not using them
- turn your thermostate down 3 degrees in winter and up 3 in summer
- use public transportation, or walk/bike/skate/run/etc., or drive Hybrid
... that 50 tons will be cut by around 60%!!! Wow! That will also save you money too!

ooh ooh .. I have an ambition that involves saving Boreal Forests... well since I'm planning to be a fashion and costume designer, I thought that when I'm a bit older I can start actually pre-making clothes and costumes to sell on the Internet on my own personal sales site (I might sell them on my street too), and a certain percent of the amount of money I make selling them I'll be donating to an organization for saving Boreal Forests. It might work ... I have it all planned out.

Haldir, it's good you have a plan like that. That's a very endearing cause and it seems to work out with your future job too! That sounds awesome.
And Velcayelde, of course you may join! fellow tree huggers are always welcome!

Hello all,
Sorry I have not posted in a while. I have been very busy. January didn't even exist really, wasn't yesterday Christmas? Oh, well.
I have been thinking (*gasp*) about changing the name of the group. I do not think that people are fully grasping the meaning of the current label of the club. I do believe that the new title should be:
-The Enviromentally Concerned
-The Enviromentals
I like the fore, but something along those lines.

Welcome Goldelf! No, I have not heard of that site! I will add it to the list ASAP!
BTW... Has the list of Eco-Friendly sites done any good? Has anyone looked at any of them?

How did I NOT know about this thread/club?!
I'd SO love to join!
I'll restrain from going on a rant right now. Partly because I'm rather tired.
Yay for being environmentally concerned! We ROCK!
