Rose, you need not worry about the language, it seems you speak perfect English. And besides many of the text books on your study, would probably be in English anyway, so it might be easier not having to translate terms and theories!

Oh, thanks! :)
I hope your exam was okay today, Eä. :)

Well, reading through the last posts concerning the doubts about the choice of studies, I guess what an enourmous step it will be when I'll finally attend university. When you chose a subject at school, you usually decided for two or three years, but if you study you're going to make a decision for the rest of your life or at least for a pretty long time span.
I'm pretty sure on the choice of my studies and I definitely want to do it, but I don't really know what will come afterwards. I mean, here in my country there are pretty much lawyers right now, so you can't be sure if you get a job after studying. But if I would choose another subject that almost guarantees a job, but that I don't like that much, I'm afraid that I will lack motivation during my studies and perhaps be not that content with my job afterwards...
As I defintely want to study law, I'll try to work as hard as possible for it and hope that I'll get a job when I've finished...

MontanaBohemian, I'm having the same doubts.. I'm not sure about this study... but my next semester will most likely show whether this is the way I'm going to save the world, lol

Ha ha ha....Yeah, I miss my Political Science classes. I just hope it works out so I can get a job at the U.N. and save the world via diplomacy, and not as a politician. :P

Rose, what do you want to study in school?

Well, this thread seems to enjoy being on page 3. I'm not sure why. Ha ha ha.
My university just started second (spring) semester today. Blah!! Three days a week I have to go to math at 8 in the freakin' morning. NOT fun. *sigh* OH well. My course load definately makes me look like some General Ed. studies loser who hasn't chosen what to study. :P I'm taking two archaeology classes, another Astronomy class, Spanish and math. *sigh* I guess, I figure...if Poli. Sci. doesn't work the way I hope...I'll need some back up if I want to get a job. :P But I'm kicking myself that I didn't sign up for any Psychology or Criminology classes. *sigh* You know, I blame my interest in criminology (and I suppose Political Science which usually leads to law school) on my mother. CURSE LAWYERS! ;) Ha ha ha...or maybe it's just that she watched Law & Order ALL the time when I was growing up. :P
*sigh* Man, I don't even know what this post was supposed to be about. Ha ha ha!

I'll finish school this summer and then I wish to study Law at a university, as the whole topic really fascinates me. ;)

What do you study in general? Reading through your last post I guess that you've chosen a great variety of different classes. Do you need them all for one job?
I hope all the stuff with math will work out for you, so that I can watch out for a U.N. member saving the world and becoming famous everywhere in the next few years. ;)

You know, all my friends have told me that I'll probably end up as a lawyer. As I usually, in their minds, either look like one or act like one. Ha ha ha. And in fact, I've considered going to law school. Just one problem...don't have the money. Ha ha ha. And I don't fancy the idea of taking out a huge loan. :P ;) If I do eventually end up there, it'll be along the lines of my major in International Law or something. :P As, I don't think the American Civil Liberties Union pays very well. Ha ha ha.
Well, the classes I AM taking this year are mainly to fufill all my General Education requirements. Last year, my freshman year, I was kind of crazy and took all my prerequistes for my major THEN. So, it kind of left me with not much but general education this year. But part of it is, is because as a sophmore, an underclassmen, they won't really let me take any classes aimed at junior and senior Political Science majors. Weird, I know. But I suppose, by taking these classes THIS year, I'll be able to concentrate more on my major. :)

I hope you have fun in Law School! It is a really facsinating subject!! :P

Are there only private Law Schools in your country?
Here you can study Law at most of the "normal" universities. You have to pay a fee here as well (500€ for half a year) but the costs are quite moderate compared with the fees of private universities, where you have to pay 2000-3000€ per month, which is much too expensive for me, too. My parents want to support me while I study, but I don't want them to pay that much and I think you would have to take many jobs to be able to pay that large sum of money otherwise, which would take away too much time that you actually need for studying. And I don't want to take out a loan, as I don't like the thought that you have so many debts before you actually have a "real" job.
Well, during my studies I wish to specialize on International Law as well, or maybe on Business or Contract Law. I think these are the areas were you have the highest chances of getting a good job after finishing your studies.

Thanks for reviving this thread again, Ivreniel! :) I've already missed it, but it must have been buried deep in the depths of this section.

Well, I'm pretty busy with school right now, as I'm fastly moving towards my A-level exams *panicks*. But most people seem to be pretty busy with school or work now, as it has become much more quiet on A-U in general. :(

You're right Ivreniel, it's been too long and I've missed the club too. I thought of attempting a revival, but couldn't think of a topic. That's still our main problem, aye? The lack of topics...

Rose, you're always busy with your exams... but don't worry, I know you'll do well when you study so much! At least you'll do your best and you can't be expecting more..!

Moi? Quite the same... studying, work, going out with friends and the same all over again... *shrugs*

Geeez, two months? That's ridiculous.

I was actually thinking of "reviving" this thread, but I kept forgetting to. XD Ha ha ha.

Well, not much has been going on. :P
Started the new semester. Seems to be going a bit better than last semester. :P No more Latin! :bounce: Ha ha ha!!! I'm taking some really fun classes...but it really feels like all I've been doing is school work. It's crazy. *sigh* Oh well. Let's see...Oh! I've been trying to apply for an exchange overseas somewhere next spring. That's a bit crazy....gah....Hmmm....not much else is going on in my life. How sad. XD

XD Yeah, I don't think Latin has anything to do with my major...well, with the exception of law terms. :P

I am still majoring in Political Science, just not taking any classes this year really. Just electives/general education requirements. Latin was just something random I felt like taking. :P Ha ha ha! Didn't do too well...but I blame that on studying another language and the fact that it wasn't taught very well for a foreign language class...oh, and not studying that hard.... Ha ha ha! Should've taken Irish or Arabic. :P

^Well, Erare humanum est :P

Anyway.. as I've said before I want to learn Arabic.... I wanted to learn Chinese as well, but I figured if I eventually would have the time for it, I would need to choose one, and I'd choose Arabic because it's easier to learn to speak Arabic and I would probably be more likely to use it in a future job... Chinese is still pretty limited to China and if you wanna do business in China...

^Hmm... very confusing post... seems like my brain isn't working with me....

Ha, Arabic easier than Chinese? I have to disagree...:P I'm taking Arabic right now, there are so many different sounds you have to make, much more gutteral. Silly Ein! :P Proununciation is a pest... I'm thinking about minoring in Arabic too....we're going to be starting a minor in it..which is so cool!! But I think Arabic would be a better choice MB! Then I can help you! :teehee:

SIDA! Oh my goodness, in my Spanish class today...we spent like 10 minutes talking about "gutteral" pronunciations. Because someone pronounced a name wrong or something....I think it was "Juan"...and my prof. made fun of her by saying, "It's not One (Whaan), it's Clearing Your Throat Juan!" :P So, we spent like 10 minutes making gross noises. :P Ha ha ha!

Yeah, I SO should take Arabic next semester!!

Oh my goodness, what did you write?! *is lost but in awe of such prettyful language*

Thanks for the encouragement, Eä! I hope so as well, but as these exams will be the most important ones I've ever written, I'm a bit more nervous than usual...

Lucky you! I've always been dreaming of going to NZ, but the trips there are so expensive...Have you seen some of the LOTR movie locations?

That's sounds very familar to me. My Spanish teacher also complains about our pronunciation very often. :)

How many languages do all of you speak by the way?
I speak English, German, and Spanish and I had Latin classes for 5 years. And I definitely want to learn some more foreign languages when I'll be at uni. :)
