My friend and I are trying to get a school club set up for us Doctor Who nerds. The office is supposed to be calling us down about it, but so far they haven't. xD Cool thing is they seem interested.

Waters of Mars....just....wow. Words cannot describe it. I see yet again why David Tennant is made of awesome. (Even though the Doctor did qualify as a bit of a douche at the end) <----bit of a spoiler...
Spoilerish stuff below. Read at your own peril!
I loved the Doctor's new attitude at the end of the episode. Mind you, I didn't like the attitude itself, but to see the Doctor become cocky was a change, and therefore kinda fun.
The trailer for End of Time looks brilliant as well. The master with see through head flesh and glowing skull? That's pretty awesome. And did you notice the Doctor walking very angstily with a laser beam being shot right next to him? B.A. indeed. I'll go as far as saying BAMF .
AND DONNA! Oh my gingerbread men, that excited me. Donna is by far my favorite companion. I just hope she doesn't die. I would be very upset if she died. Very upset. RTD, you've killed of my Ianto, killed off Owen, and Tosh, and reduced Torchwood to nothing more than nasty bloody pulp. If you kill of the one companion I adored above all others, woe be to you. The death of my Welshman Ianto has left me hanging by a thread. Murder Donna and you will cut that last filament that is keeping me in the realm of sanity. I'm just warning you ahead of time. I've taken seven years of swimming lessons as a kid, so I will have no qualms about swimming the ocean to get to you and all you hold dear. Have a nice day.
So, what did you all think?

I must say that for all his faults, this is why I LOVE RTD. Seriously, the mixture of crazy awesome Tennant!acting and epic!music, this episode BLEW MY MIND.
Especially the end. Not the trailer for the next part, but like, from where he got his space suit back to the end "NO." KILLED me. Absolutely demolished me. In a good way, of course.

So, is there nobody here who cried for Ten? At least a little bit? Come on, I know you're out there.

I cried for Jack. That was the part that broke me, that he was all alone in god-knows-where... and then the Doctor didn't bring back Ianto and I cried more.

Okay, I wasn't the only one who got her hopes up for bringing him back? I was more miffed about that, honestly, than the regeneration. Which is bad.

Oh, psh. You aren't the only ones who were wishing for a resurrected Ianto.
I liked "The End of Time" but at the same time I just became so tired of the angstyness. The Doctor's blank wide eyed gaze of despair was made way too many times. It seemed like the writers went for a "lets beat the emotional crud out of the Doctor like we've never done before!"

^ That. I don't know, I just wasn't feeling it, it all seemed too contrived. And now I think since they made such a big deal about it, it's like they WANT people to dislike Matt Smith before he's even gotten a chance with the role.

People disliked Matt from the get go, before they'd even seen him act in the role. So yeah...I don't think TPTB did anything intentional there. I've seen people criticise the guy because he's not 'pretty' enough to be the Doctor...just...*beep*.
Anyway I'm very much looking forward to the new series, it looks very good from the brief teaser preview and I loved Matt's post-regen scene.
"LEGS!" brilliant. A hundred times better than what they gave DT imho
As for Ianto...he could not be brought back. Period. The End.
It's been stated that you cannot go back and save someone that has actually died. The Doctor stated this implicitly to Rose when she stupidly saved her dad from being run over. The Time Lords were NOT dead, they were locked up in a time bubble. Look how well that turned out because he was supposed to be dead. Call it convenient, call it contrived, call it a Deus Ex Machina if you like, but that's my theory on why Jack was given Alonso (-squeee- <3's on Russell Tovey) and not a zombie Ianto.
Now....Flame On!

It didn't feel like that to me, quite the contrary.
And about Matt Smith: To me it seems like the majority of people is actually very exited about him! As for me.. well, I did want to give him a chance, but I thought his acting was just lame. A lame copy of David Tennant. That's why I dislike him. I would have enjoyed seeing him act if he had a distinctive style of his own, but he didn't. That's just my opinion, now shoot me.

For me, it was the "Germonio" that did it for me. Someone thought that would be a good thing to shout? He seems like a nice lad and all but...I have no idea.
To regards to the End of Time, I thoroughly enjoyed the dynamics between David Tennant and John Simm. It was just beautiful. By the way, did anyone else notice the Doctor quoting the Master? When he was talking to Ood Sigma, he was like "Isn't it funny? Kinda, a little bit? No?"

Awww..., I liked that, actually. That line and his "Still not ginger!" managed to take me from shedding tears over the loss of Ten to laughing out loud, which in turn, led me to like Eleven. I'll always miss Ten and consider him "my" doctor, but I'm excited to see what Matt Smith is going to do with the role 8).
As for "The End Of Time", I liked it, in spite of its flaws (e.g. the underuse of Donna, making the return of the Time Lords into this huge threat, then pulling back from that in part two, etc.). One of my favorite things about it was the interaction between the characters, especially the scenes with Wilf and Ten. Every one of those had a huge emotional punch. Though I didn't start crying until the very end, when Ood Sigma told Ten that he and the other Ood would sing him to sleep, just about every scene between Wilf and Ten really pulled at the heartstrings. I also loved the twist of having The Master be the one who saved the planet by sending the Time Lords back to where they came from. I was totally not expecting that!
Regarding Ten's parting gift to Jack: I was let down by that too, but not because he didn't bring Ianto back from the dead for him. RTD and company have said, many times over, at recent conventions, that Ianto wouldn't be brought back in any form, so I didn't get my hopes up for that. What did annoy me was how, dare I say it, unhelpful (IMO) the gift was. I'd have liked it better if the message in the note had been something that could serve as a word of encouragement for Jack to go on without Ianto and return to leading Torchwood. Just giving him a new boy toy (not that I ever considered Ianto to be only that), though it obviously perked him up a little, was nowhere near enough to help him recover from his grief and guilt over the events of "Children Of Earth".

I don't know about anyone else, but ever since The Next Doctor, I have been overall disappointed with the writing for the show.
Don't get me wrong, there were parts that were BRILLIANT (most of Water of Mars, for instance), but other parts (aka End of Time part 1) that was absolutely ludicrous. I wanted John Simm just as much as the next fangirl, but Skeletor? I've heard plenty of people justify Skeletor/Super-saiyan Master, but my brain absolutely refuses to accept it. There were so many moments between Simm/Tennant that could have been absolutely BRILLIANT (when the Doctor hears the drumming was genius), and then were completely ruined by ridiculousity (i.e "you can hear it?!" and then he Hulk jumps into the night from pure joy).
There were a few shining moments, don't get me wrong. I sobbed my eyes out at that scene with Wilf and the Doctor at the diner. Tennant's acting while in the radiation box nearly broke me in half. But then he was like "jk, you have another half hour of me." Now, I did appreciate that he got the chance to fix a bunch of people's lives (except Ianto, but that's neither here nor there), but if he had simply died in the box, writhing in agony, it would have been a much better death, a lot more heart breaking, and probably would have given Matt Smith a better chance.
As for Matt Smith, I like him. I really do. I was skeptical of him, honestly, because he's so young, and just kind of looks like a nerdy little kid to me. I was just skeptical that he could pull off the kind of maturity the Doctor after Tennant would have to have. The ONLY problem I have with him is that his catch phrase is "geronimo." Seriously? Geronimo? GERONIMO? Ridiculous. I'm sorry, but ridiculous. So long as he doesn't say that a zillion times, I'll get over it, and genuinely like Matt Smith.

^ Every. Word. of. That.
I feel like the series has gone downhill since Season 3... hopefully Steven Moffat can pick things up again.

Valid points, but there's still plenty of ways they could have brought him back without some sort of zombie plot or screwing up time. How about the virus not killing anyone in the first place? Technically there was no way that said virus could actually have killed him in the three minutes it took, that's not how viruses work.
