I'm not sure this is brilliant and I might change is slightly again, but here is the first draft:

They will be remembered
For what they did

They loved us
We loved them
Perhaps not when they were alive
But we do now

They will not be forgotten
Nor will their stories

They fought bravely
For anyone but themselves
There are tales about their adventures
And they will survive

They will not be forgotten
We shall remember them
Those heroes, poets and scientists
Those grandmother, grandpas and loved ones

No one is immortal
But they are only dead
When they are forgotten

My book is going wel for those of you who remember that I said I was writing one. It's called Floating on the Edge and is set in the Isles of Scilly. I have managed to write 46 pages in about 3 weeks which is good considering I've had exams and homework and about a zillion other things to do! Just thought I'd give you guys and update.

For those who remember MY story... Well, I've written one soul page and I get no further. I'm kinda stuck at something that would be a great ending of a chapter, but I can't end a chapter after one page >.<

I suppose you could, it could be a very short and drematic chapter and then as the story progresses the chapters get longer. *Shrugs* My fisrt chapter is about 3 pages long.

I read a book called Falling Angels once. One of the chapters was about two sentences long
But it was sort of all the main characters telling their stories so the length of the chapters varied a lot.

The page I'm stuck at is the first page of the book though, and I'd really like it to be longer. Some conversation would help, but I kinda don't want any convos yet...

Could it be a prologue?
Many times the first chapter is the shortest...

great idea I'll think about that, and try to keep writing.

I have a prologue in my book. I originally cut it tgo a page, but decided it was too cropped, so it's now 1 1/2 pages long. How about describing the situation, the people, the place, the time, taht sort of thing, Arinda?

That's be cool to have a banner, Arinda! Great idea! I would make it, but I can't make graphics to save my life. lol

I like that banner idea. I wonder why no one has suggested that already.
And just to keep everyone updated on how my story is going. I kept the same idea for Crowning Glory, but i read my first draft and couldn't believe I'd written something so ridiculous. So I completely re-wrote it and it's now much better. There's my update for anyone who cares.

I'm not really working on any writing right now. I was working on a story with a disfigured girl a few days ago, but I've sorta got writer's block.

i'm not getting any further with my book, maybe because I forget it every time I'm not on here
I could make my mommy make the banner, if that's okay with y'alls

I am a mod and I had no idea that this club existed. Bad me! Is it ok to join you all? I kind of need to be filled in on the latest, since I am not about to read 20 forum pages.
