^i've never laughed at a guy while theyr trying to ask me out, i've smiled when i figure out what theyr try to say, but in a friendly way not like "its funny that your nervous and your asking me out" but then again a guy hasnt fully asked me out in person

Gosh, we've got some fast posters... 
So, most of us agree that the guy should be the one to ask the girl out not vice versa? I agree with you Gwen, it is the gentlemanly thing to do.

Haha, he is a sweetie, and he's ever so quiet. I like quiet guys who don't show off, but he's got to have a sense of humour too.
Poor guys, I know it doesn't really boost your confidence any when we giggle, but it's just our way of showing we're nervous. I promise you that being asked out is just as scary, and nerve wracking as doing the asking yourself, because if you have to say no you really don't know what to say because you haven't been planning it.

I personally would rather have to ask the girl out than the girl ask me out. Well, anything is better than having to be arranged with a girl. My mother is trying that out on me and I am like "NO, mother! I can get a girl by myself!!!!" Most of them it is usually daughters of her friends. She really makes me sick with that.

^^ that would make me mad too, and I would personally have a guy ask me out then ask the guy out myself. Luckily my mom hasn't tried to set me up with anyone.

AH! CAUNION! I KNOW WHAT U MEAN! My mom does the SAME THING. *Some of u may have read the stories I posted very early on in this club* Its awful!...*laughing* but it's also kinda amusing. Gotta love mothers.

If my mom EVER tried to set me up with someone, I'd either laugh or cry. Especially since my mom has the WORST taste in guys -looks pointedly at a picture of her moms "friend"- but she hasn't yet so it's ok.

my mum tried to set me up with my doctors son, but luckily i had a bf at the time--shes never met him before it was her and my dr saying i might like him and he might like me--i would hate if my mum tried to put me with someone of her own taste cuz she likes short and chubby guys and i like tall and skinny guys so we're completely opposite when it comes to taste in guys

I like tall, slender, kind of willowy guys, too...(Strange, because my favorite lotr character *points to banner* is rather short... ) It's their personality that counts, though. My taste in guys is semi-specific. They pretty much have to be taller then me (over 5'5" which isn't hard to beat) I LOVE blue eyes with brown hair but it's not a need. They have to be funny, but also know when to be quiet. They've gotta be nice and of course my sister must add her approval  (Yes, I depend on my sister a lot, she's like my best friend)
