Well, basically I'm pretty good at most subjects, but I'd say my strongest points would be English (although my mother tongue isn't English ), German, Spanish, History and Maths and maybe also Latin, although I don't have it as a subject anymore since 2004, but I can't have forgotten everything...

Eä wrote: So my sentence would look like this used as an example (or quote): "I wonder whether 'strawberryish' is a word."
But like this if found in a text/novel etc, indicating direct speech: "I wonder whether 'strawberryish' is a word." said Eä
 Then that's right.
And yea, ' are apostrophes, but you can use them as quotation marks from what I've seen. But maybe that's just me. Different people use different things. *Shrugs*

I'd like to join I'd say I could help the most in Pre-Calculus, English, and History (European).
I could try at Physics & French too.
I've always wondered about the difference between ' ' and " ". In Java the first is used for characters, and the second for strings (sentences etc.). That doesn't really help - but that's the only instance where I actually know when to use which I usually just guess.

I use "..." for 'speech' quotes-- when someone's talking.
Example wrote: "Look out!" he cried, "That bear looks angry!" Example wrote: As Gandalf once said, "All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us." I use '...' to show that a word or character is to be taken as a thing, not as part of the meaning of the sentence. Example wrote: I am positive that 'strawberryish' is not a word. Example wrote: I dislike the letter 'a'. I also use single quotes (') inside quotes, where the person speaking would have used double quotes ("). Example wrote: She continued, "Just last week, Bob said 'my name is Bob!' Isn't that funny?" And I also used single quotes above, for some reason that I can't describe. Something to do with offsetting an inexact word or a word that doesn't quite mean what I want it to or doesn't really fit in the way I'm using it. Example wrote: I use "..." for 'speech' quotes-- when someone's talking.

Thank you Grey Pilgrim.
Everything you say looks correct, it's generally the way I've done it as well, and it seems most of you have learned the same.
Thank you for your help!

Did you want to join up Grey Pilgrim?
Wahey, between us we've answered Eä's question rather well.
