Of course, JK Rowling has had a few mistakes in the making of the film. [coughactuallycomplimentingCuarononhisworkofPoAcough]

Well, his movie was good --- but not a great HP movie. PS, CoS, and GoF told the story very well but PoA, not so much. I mean --- they left out so many things that it's like, they just want the plot to keep going, they're not worried about the little details. And the little details that DO come on, they do PERFECT on but they just left too much out.

Anyways, did they say an age for when Luna witnessed her mother's death?

^I don't think JK has said it yet. Maybe she will say in the 7th book.

Okay, so people see the Thestrals when they're aware of witnessing someone else's death. If Luna witnessed her mother's death at an early age, say 6 but did not comprehend it until she was a little bit earlier.

Wikipedia noted that she started seeing the Threstrals when she was nine but that doesn't indicate that that was when she witnessed her mother's death ----- of course, Wikipedia could be wrong but it's an interesting thought.

I loved the idea of Luna with Neville, but JK said that wasn't going to happen

Neville and Luna would totally weird people out.

I mean, they're both weird but .... put them together and you've got a new book genre.
