Why did Gollum move into the Misty Mountains? He had to leave the "village" of his people, but they lived in the Anduin valley, so why didn't Gollum go into Mirkwood? It isn't far away, there it is cold and dark and there are not only orcs to eat. Why did he choose to go into the west and not eastwards?

Well, you didn't answer my question, so I'll try to answer it myself:
We don't know why he choose the Misty Mountains, Tolkien didn't write it. But in the Silmarillion it is said that men often prefer to go into the West, maybe hobbits do this as well. And there is no cool place safe a cave in the Misty Mountains, so Gollum decided to take this cave as a home. There it was cold and wet, the best place for him and his precious! _________________ <center>
