Welcome, Belowen! In the 20 page history of our club we've been talking about what we're writing, ideas, and some people have posted some of their writing and we've commented on it. Then a page or 2 ago we started writing prompts. We just started those this week.
Yay! A banner! That'd be great, Arinda!
I really like your poem, Arawn, especially the last verse.
Here's what I came up with from the writing prompt. It's not super long, but oh well!
I will be remembered, as I remember so many.
I remember my father. I have looked up to him since childhood, even after his death. He helped makee who I am today.
I remember my wife. She was-is-so beautiful, so full of life, so joyous. We belonged to each other for such a short time, and still she helped make me too. She's here today, watching, waiting for me.
I remeber my friends, my comrades. They showed such bravery I was inspired. My childhood friend- his stubborn father- the crazy Irishman- so many more who helped make me. Without them I wouldn't be alive today.
I remember the traitors. Not all my memories are good, but they are all important to me. I was so hurt, more than I can describe, as I saw a small army coldly turn away from watching my friends and I fighting, many of them dying. Then the final blow, sharper than the arrow in my chest, to see the man I thought I could depend on fighting with the enemy. And yet he saved my life in the end.
I remember the princess. She was a traitor to her own people, even to her own husband and father. She was so strong, willfull and stubborn, yet so desperately caring and loving as she tried to spare me pain.
I refused her help, though. I will take responsiblity for what I did. I regret none of the choices that brought me to this place, despite the pian, the jeers, the torment. It is who I am.
All those I remember will hear about me somehow. My wife, my closest friends, and a former traitor are watching now. Word of what happened today will spread. Those who I remember will remember me. They will remember me how, I wonder? As a patriot, a fighter, a leader, I hope. That is how I strove to live, and am striving to die.
My strongest desire, however, is that I hope they will remember me simply as William Wallace, son of Scotland.
I wrote that after watching Braveheart.

Well, since I need to catch up, I will submit my first entry in response to the assigned prompt (it's a good one, by the way!):
They will be remembered
Even as our hands become unsteady
Our eyes haze over
And our pages wilt with age
Our voices may shiver,
But our ears cling to their whispers
They
Will be remembered
Because they did not forget
Us

That's lovely. What inspired you to write that? Anything special?
 Btw.

I was just thinking about all of those people in history who may not have had the loudest voices but still made an impact on us...
I don't know. Sometimes I just need one or two words and then I am golden. Oftentimes I just type until I reach a gap in my head, and then I look at what I wrote...

That's the best way to be, when inspired write until you go blank, then read through and amend where you need to. Thant's my motto.

hehe, great! I really like it. I have one version where the text isn't all that bold if anyone wants it, but the text only barely shows in it, so I really think this one is better

Amazing! Its a beuatiful banner! And I love that bit you wrote Bel. Its awesome. Im currently writing a story about knights, im making a another land place like england but not quite it. LOTR, The Edge on a Sword, and The man in the iron mask (or something like that), Is my inspiration for this story. All some of my RP's have inspired it to. So far I just have 18 pages of notebook paper written, that took me a day and a half i havent worked on it forever though...

Currently I'm working on a book. I'm kind of the type of person that does a ton of prewriting and planning beforehand, so I just started getting into the actual writing, but it's going well. It's about a girl named Charlotte and her sister Kai, and it's a fantasy book. As for the prompt...
They will be remembered. Their acts have long ago passed away, the brave and noble deeds have seemingly passed out of all knowledge or rememberence. Their valour, dignity, and might could have been washed away without a trace, like footprints on a sandy beach, washed away by the undulating ocean waves. However, through some, they live on. Many today still remember their names and deeds, and appreciate them. Many today still look at their acts of greatness long ago passed and are full of awe and respect. Many still today don't just remember them because they were forced to read and memorize their names and dates associated with them out of a textbook. Many still today appreciate history, in all of its many colors and vibrant people and places. And by these people, they will be remembered.
