OH MY GODS! DRAGONFORCE/EDGUY CONCERT YESTERDAY
Oh wow. Where do I begin? I'll tell the whole tale, don't worry
So I got up to Stockholm around 2:30pm with a much delayed bus (I was supposed to arrive 2:00) and I went straight to the Sound Pollution record store in Gamla Stan (the Old Town) where DragonForce were supposed to sign their CDs 4:30pm. What an awesome store that was, tons and tons of metal CDs, DVDs, vinyl, t-shirts - you name it. So I wandered around in the store looking at what CDs and stuff they had and bought me Sonata Arctica's "Reckoning Night" CD and Avantasia's "The Metal Opera" CD. Then at around 4:00 we were told to wait outside (I was maybe the 4th person in line?) while they were setting everything up inside as well as waiting for the band to arrive.
As we stood there outside in the freezing cold weather all of a sudden a bunch of guys walked by - DragonForce. We barely saw them at first because they just went by like regular people, but dayum they looked so hot. They went inside and we had to wait some more. Finally a guy came out and said "ok 5 people at the time!" and so I got to go in

We had to start from the right of the table and work ourselves through the members hehe. First I got and autograph from Dave who asked how I was doing. Next was Fred. Man what a cutie he was! He even knew some words in Swedish, I told him "thank you" in English and he replied "you're welcome" in Swedish - what a brilliant man! He even drew a little cartoon guy (and Herman went playfully: "Damn Fred, you're screwing everybody's booklet up!" lmao) I think ZP was next - DAYUM! I could have mobbed him - he looked so gorgeous. First he didn't see me as he was looking down all busy with his autograph and then I said "Hello" and he looked up and just smiled widely - god I was in heaven! haha. I then asked him if they were gonna come back and do their own tour here, like a headline show he said "Yeah we're definitely planning on it!" I said "awesome!" and he grinned even more. I think I was blushing at this point, haha. Then came Vadim and man is he hot in person or what? He smiled and said "There you go! Have a nice day!". Next was Sam and he got the booklets a little mixed up and wasn't sure which one belonged to whom so he asked me "Is this yours?" and I said it was. Herman the man was the last man at the table, and I had to fight the urge to touch his hair haha. God he was fine! He thanked me for stopping by and I said I couldn't wait for the concert. There was no opportunity to take pictures either with them or of them because the record store was so small and also once you were done you had to get out to make room for more fans. But oh well, at least I got to meet them, see them and talk to them so up close
I then found my way to the Arena and probably got there around 5:15pm or something. The line wasn't as long as I thought it would be. They would start letting people in at 6:30 and as the hour grew near tons of people showed up and the line was huge. I was glad I was able to get there as "early" as I did. Some girls in the line were singing (very loudly I might add lol) a fun mix of Avantasia, Edguy, Swedish pop and Children's songs lmao. Anyways finally they started letting people in slowly as they searched people's bags, pockets etc. First I went straight to where they would put away your coat/jacket for 10 SEK ($1.30, £0.70), then to the restroom and then up the stairs to the main concert hall. I found a pretty decent spot a little bit to the side of the mosh pit, relatively close to the stage and waited for the concert to start. More and more people were filling up the hall and we got packed tighter and tighter.
Finally Sabaton came on and the craziness began in the audience haha. They band was definitely a pleasant surprise, they were really good live and constantly pointed out how awesome it was for them to finally be back home in Sweden. I really really enjoyed the last song they played, "Metal Machine". "Wolfpack" was great. Countless audience members requested "Primo Victoria" which they also performed. This group of really crazy Sabaton fans bounced their way to where I was. This one guy was extremely drunk, spilled beer on me, was jumping around like crazy (on my toes and bumping into me all the time) plus head-banged his long hair right in my face. That was... fun! lmao. Oh well, part of the concert experience, haha. Here are the two pictures I managed to take of Sabaton: (thumbnails are clickable)
Anyways, then DragonForce came on. Man were they awesome or what?! Everything I'd ever hoped they would be live! They opened up with "My Spirit Will Go On", other songs they played were "Fury Of The Storm", "Storming The Burning Fields", "Dawn Over A New World" and finished with my all-time favorite "Valley of the Damned". I only wish they would have played more songs. They might have done a 6th song but I can't remember lol. I was too much in awe of them. ZP even noticed me in the audience, seeing as I was pretty close to the stage. That was so awesome! ZP was so awesome towards the audience, even staying still, posing for pictures whenever he saw somebody held up a camera! Fred was excellent on stage, what a great new addition to this awesome band. Sam was doing his hands free booze drinking as usual and he and Herman were joking around a lot. Vadim was jumping around like crazy doing his thing. They sounded awesome. It was over too fast though. I filmed quite a bit with my digital camera and I will get the videos up later. It was kind of hard to get nice footage as people bumped into me all the time so it was impossible to be able to hold the camera still, and I was right by the speakers so the sound is kind of crappy in some places, but oh well. Here are the few pictures I managed to take of DF when people's hands weren't in the way, they're quite dark and blurry so I apologize for that: (Again, the thumbnails are clickable!)
I apologize for the hugeass tags but I just don't trust people online (I trust you, but I don't trust other people who will have access to these pics as I'm posting them here!) as I've had pretty bad experiences of people stealing my pictures in the past and even putting their own tags on them.
After DragonForce had played I went out to the lobby, which was right nextdoor to the concert hall to just get a little "fresh air" and something to drink. I kicked myself over and over for forgetting to take out cash from an ATM like I had told myself over and over to do since I wanted to get a DF shirt. I was so mad at myself. Oh well. I stayed out there for awhile, seeing as Edguy had yet to come on and I mean the reason I went to the concert was to see DF so I didn't feel the urge to get back into the mosh pit for Edguy haha. Sam and Vadim soon came out in the lobby and started hanging out with fans. They were really fun to watch. Dave soon joined them. It was really cool to see them being themselves (since they were slightly drunk, Sam especially, they didn't have that forced polite behavior some famous people have towards their fans). I told Vadim how awesome I thought they show was and how much I loved it. He said thank you and also thanked me for coming. He was so flippin hot I could have jumped him! haha. Sam also fell backwards onto me, that's how drunk he was lmao! It was kind of cool though, haha.
Edguy soon came on and I stayed sort of at the back towards the lobby to watch them, where you could actually breath. They sounded awesome. Tobias had cut his hair to about shoulder-length

, I wanted his long hair back! Oh well. "Lavatory Love Machine" was awesome. I'm not too familiar with their songs so I can't really say which ones they played, but it all sounded awesome! They explained why they weren't selling any merchandise here because they had some trouble with some sponsors/company that would take such high percentage and overcharge us fans for them on this tour and Edguy felt it wasn't fair to us and said that official Edguy tour shirts would be available at the Sound Pollution record store tomorrow afternoon (meaning today) for a much lower price. Kudos to them for thinking about their fans!!!
All in all I had such an awesome encounter and concert experience. Can't wait for DF to come back with their own tour here

AHHH I think I'll go pinch myself to see if it's all real now haha
