LOl, I'll try. :-)

I got the DVD box set I was on about. It's 2 discs and also has the two disc soundtrack! Finally! I get to listen to the full thing. Also, 8 colour stills came with it. It's a smashing set. I was looking at some of the features and ended up watching nearly an hour of them! It's so interesting. :D

Thanks Kit. :-) It covers both the film and the stage show, which is great as I've never seen clips of the show before. There's even a whole section about the making of the chandelier!! It contains more than 30,000 parts, each Swavoski (or however you spell it) crystal was hand crafted, and each chain of crystals hdd to be attatched to the chandelier frame by hand, which took 5 days. It weighed 2.5 tonnes which was more than the chandlier it was based on in the opera house in Paris. Gah, I'm so full of information right now. :teehee:

I'd love to join.

It's a long time obsession of mine, and I've only just managed to see the movie (it was on sky the other day and I forced my family to watch it) and now we're going to see the play in London for my birthday! 20th anniversary of the theatre production, I'm so happy :D

I'm so happy happy happy happy...I got the DVD for Christmas! *squee* I thought I wouldn't get it, since my parents think it's weird and all, but my Phantom-loving Grandmother got it for me. Yay!

 Yeah, the Madame Giry bouncing thing...

*composes self*

The 2-disc soundtrack is AMAZING, is it not? I just love it, it's practically all I listen to these days. I never owned the original one, as I had wonderful friends who brought me to PotO and then gave me a copy of the Extended Soundtrack. I can't imagine having anything else! (I must be rather spoiled. Even when just a few lines are cut out (such as in Think of Me) I notice it and it drives me insane. :teehee: )

Can it be? Can it be Christine? Bravo! So long ago, it seems so long ago, how young and innocent we were. She may not remember me....but....I remember her....

Yes, I noticed they missed that bit out, which considering all the "speaking" that goes on in the soundtrack, makes this omission rather odd. I never had any version of the soundtrack until Christmas, I just listened to it on the internet. Masquerade is still my favourite song though. :-)

Oh wow! That's AMAZING! Hand crafted. That's dedication right there. Peter Jackson would be proud!

I haven't watched PotO in a while. I think I should. :D

Yep, PJ would be proud. :D It's pretty fascinating all the work they put in. It was also nice to see the cast as themselves (lots of the Raoul dude talkin' ;)). Personally, I think the POTO sets are some of the best I've ever seen. So sumptuous and full of detail. From what I can make out it was the 2.5 tonne chandelier that was broken. They only had once shot at filming that scene as they burn down the opera set after that.

I really think Andrew Lloyd Webber is a genuis. He's got to have written some of the best musicals of all time. And he's very witty and charming as well, he seems to get on with people of all classes, so he's Ok in my books. :D

EDIT: I'm just listening to Down Once More/Track Down This Murderer and I'm just sniffling away. :'( The most beautiful piece of music for when Christine kisses the Phanotm. *sob* I'm in tears and I'm not even watching it! WAAAAHH!

Is this the regular DVD? I want more Patrick Wilson! [giggleses]

I LOVE the graveyard set. It looks BEAUTIFUL.

And yes Andrew Lloyd Webber is one of the musical geniuses of the 21st century.

Well it's the deluxe box set, but it's still a 2 disc DVD.

Ah, yeah the graveyard set is fantastic. The lair is really good as well. Heck, I like 'em all. :P

*sniff* I really need to watch the film again but I daren't unless I'm on my own and have plenty of tissues on hand.
