BLAH! Right now my horse is getting extar training form the person who I bought her from cause she's so spooky!
So I had to put up plastic bags all over the big metal round pen in the back and put her in there. She wasn't as bad as I thought she would be, but now because of her reacting well to the ropes I have to learn to rope after I get better balance..... BLAH !!!!

Having a spooky horse stinks. My firend showed a spooky horse her first year in 4-H and it was a nightmare!

Sorry i haven't been on tired from school and such and rugby and horseback and lessons of sorts plus homework. Really sorry
Heheh i rode my baby Tonto for the jumping clinic and hes this little fat thing so it feels lke your flying over jumps and we jumped a pretty high oxer and OMG i was FLYING! i felt so goooodd!!!! he was going so great.
Oh yeah so i have found a replacement horse tha ti love riding if Andrew( the other instructor) steals my baby for his new beginners jumping class( cause my babys just that good) His name is George and he is a small thin pony. He's definately a change from Tonto because hes super fast and he LOVES jumping as well. I am learning a lot from him actualyl like balance( because he tips you forward upon landing and during the lesson) Hes a chestnut Gelding and hes so cute. He's tempermental though and he bit me really hard once but is till love him.
Yeah spooky horses are a pain. Andrews horse is REALLY spooky everytime hes turned out he spooks he is better than the used to be but still. He spooks before a lot of jumps( even though hes gorgeous over jumps) and he's afraid of every little thing that goes on. His name is Royal Salute and hes a beautiful bay gelding. Hes not a thoroughbred but hes HUGE.
Sorry guys lots of stories

Horray for horses!!! What would the world be like with out them???
Yeah... my horse spooks at bags too... and he's an Arabian... which makes my life all the better...*sarcasm* I've tried the whole bag thing in the round pen, and he works himself up so bad, we literally think he's going to kill himself... (never put a bag near the alfalfa... BAD IDEA.) I would appreciate any ideas on how the heck to help this horse get over his little attitude... spook... thing.
Cool thread!!!

P.S. Does any one else call their horse Asfaloth, just for the heck of it??? Or am I just lame???

My ex-best firend's trainer taught me this trick you take a plastic bag on a stick and you lounge your horse, but you put the plastic bag in front of your horse so he can see it and let him smell the bag and gently rub it on him, but be careful! Hope this helps!

When he flips out in the round pen make sure its one he can't get out of but has big enough spaces between the bars that he can get out of it if he lashes at the bags or something like that.
Put him in their after you work with him on the in hand bag, but leave him in there. Just leave him. Feed him in it.
Oh and this is important don't get nervous about it at all just put your horse in their like your turning him out to the pasture.

Hi, hope you can join. Just wondering, what is the strangest advice you have heard/been given concerning horses?
I have two; my dad works with this guy who owns a stubborn Appaloosa and whenever she won't cooperate, he'll take a water baloon and spray warm water on her. She thinks she's bleeding so she stops. Another one was this woman was telling this girl to make her horse think he was going to die because he was being a rockhead. Ok. [/b]
