What a nice list of things to do over summer, Ivreniel. I'm not on summer break yet, unfortunately, so I haven't planned much... The time is divided in a before and after my exam!! And my exam isn't until June 27th.. in two weeks time...I know I'll work over summer and read some books... but other than that... I'll know later!
Paper work.. horrible! I think it's worse with the paper stuff in the U.S. because of the way your health care system works, but then again we might have a lot of paper work to do for other things.. For instance tax.. I really hate filling out those papers even though it isn't all that difficult but still it takes time.. *sigh*

Yeah, I hate having to fill out all that paperwork stuff once you turn 18. Not that cool...I'm like, "Don't ya'll HAVE this already?!" XD
*sigh*
But, my summer plans...not that exciting.
I'm working at my aunt and uncle's guest ranch for the summer. In the middle of nowhere. It's an hour to the nearest town/city. I mean there's Big Sky and West Yellostone about a half an hour in either direction...but neither of those places are very fun. XD And Bozeman isn't that fun either.
SO, that's my summer right there. Doing ranch laundry (sheets, towels and napkins) 6 days a week...and cleaning cabins. BAH. We'll see how I'm doing in mid-July. See if I'm still sane. XD
I mean, I don't mind the job, and most of my co-workers are pretty awesome. But, you're so out of the loop news-wise...and regular-life wise...that it sucks. I'm going to miss hanging out at our cabin on Flathead Lake...and tubing down rivers...and just actually having a summer. *sigh*
But, I'm going to try and make the best of it. So, I'll stop complaining. XD
But that sounds SO much fun Ivreniel! Sounds like a great summer you have planned!
When my dad remodeled my room, I painted my room green. It was called "Bonsai Green." XD Very relaxing. Green is the most peaceful colour...so...yeah.

Well, I don't have any real plans for summer yet. I think I'll just relax, read, work on my graphics and go out with my friends. Perhaps I'll also plan something with my family. And maybe I'll also travel a bit, but I'll see...

Yeah, seriously. They ask you the same questions everywhere you go. You go back they ask you agina... they should have it. lol And taxes... yeah, not something I am looking forward to haveing to do. Fortunately I have not had to yet.
Sounds like a lot of peope just take the sumer to do pretty much nothing. Which makes sense since a lot of people are constently doing something and going crazy with all the activity.
This year has been pretty crazy for me. First I went up to my Uncle and Aunts. then soon after getting back from that I went to churh camp. Just got abck from that and now we are going to be going to Ohio. Then soon after that we are going to be going back up to my Uncle and Aunt's moste likely. lol that's a lot for me at least. *shrugs*

paperwork is indeed a pain in the behind. the number of forms i had to fill in to get my student loan was ridiculous.
i've not got much planned for the summer. hopefully i'll be working a couple of days a week (had an interview, just waiting to hear from them), but other than that it'll mainly be watching films, reading books, finishing my script, walking my dog and helping my mum round the house.

I think I forgot to welcome you back Jax. It's good to see you again. How was the .. work thing.. you were on for so long? And how do you like living on your own?
Y'all seem to have nice plans for the summer.... I'm excited for the upcoming vacation as I said earlier. Reading a couple of books, work a lot, travel some... relax, hang out with friends... I can't wait!!

Thanks. The whole thing was actually pretty good if you ignore the fact I had a bone in my back.. or hip (not sure which) that was out of place and bothering me the entire time. But other than that it went good, thanks for asking.
So where is everyone going on their vacations? (those who are going)

Mmm! Summer vacation, it's been really busy! In fact, I haven't had much time to come on A-U! Gah! I've been working a ton! I'm also working at a Bereavement Camp in July, I'm the Camp Cook! Fwee for me! However, it's not only work, in August, I'm going to Seattle for The Middle Eastern Festival and my Dad's Family from New Jersey are coming out to Montana, so we're going to show them around. I'm excited! Yay! It sounds like everyone else are having good summers!

Summer is over and people are slowly getting back to posting on A-U more or less regularly. I think it's time for a revival of this thread!
How was your summer? Did you start school again or are you working? What's your life like at the moment?
I'm studying Communications and have been working 25-30 hours over the past few weeks too. I'm going to cut down on my working hours though, otherwise I'll never get around to all the reading that's expected for my studies.

^Brilliant idea, Eä. I've actually wanted to go on a search for this thread as well, but you've been faster.
My summer was really brilliant, as I've had the longest holidays I ever had since now. I could relax a lot, read many books, work on graphics and go out with friends.
I haven't started with uni yet, but I'll do so in about 2 weeks. I'm pretty excited, as it'll be my first semester, but I hope everything will work out fine.
At the moment I'm already quite busy working on the last preparations and all the paperstuff that has to be dealt with before I'll begin.

Hurray for reviving! XD
Well, I've been back at university since the 27th of August. Bleh! I've started my third year there, and it's turning out to be the hardeset and most intense. Oh joy. Part of it is because I'm finally getting back to taking classes for my major, which is Political Science. They, meaning my advisor, didn't let me last year....said it'd be better if I just waited til my junior year, since all the classes are junior/senior level. So, it's a bit difficult trying to get back into the swing of my Poli Sci classes. Ha ha ha.
I spent my summer working on a guest ranch, as I think I've mentioned before. So, I sadly didn't have any summer vacation. But, I had a good time. The crew were brilliant, and I love them to death. So, it's kind of pathetic that I miss them and the ranch so much. And all my friends are getting sick and tired of my "ranch stories."
Ha ha ha! See, there's not much to do, when the closest city is an hour away....so, basically....there was a lot of alcohol and craziness. But, all in good fun. So, even though there wasn't much but work there, we made the best of it!
But now, I'm currently unemployed. Which is okay....I've got a full load of classes, and I'm not sure I could totally handle a job. But I'm looking. AND, I'm totally excited because I got my own place!! *SQUEE* My friend moved back to my hometown, and figured we should get a place together. So we're renting a pretty nice house near campus. It's pretty sweet.
@Rose: Good luck in school! I'm sure you'll enjoy university very much!

Thanks Rose, I've been wondering when someone would dig up the old thread but it never happened...
Your summer sounds wonderful but I'm also very excited for you, I can't wait to hear about your college experiences. You've been waiting for so long now!
Hola Monty and welcome back!
Hey, if you're pathetic for missing the farm crew, then I am too. I was working the whole summer and I had a lot of fun with my co-workers and now I kinda miss it... at least I miss the freedom and the time I thought I had... in reality there isn't much free time with a work week of 40 hours but it still felt like it because I did it because of my own choice and because I didn't have to do school work, hehe! Just checked my last payslip and I'm down to working 25 hours a week!!
Political science still sounds great. And after all it is your major, I'm sure you'll get into loving it again soon!

Thanks, Eä. I can hardly wait any longer as well. I'm actually the first one of my family to attend uni, so I'm really excited what it'll be like as nobody could really tell me so far.
