I'll join! I like fencing! Me and my brother Who happens to be 6 kinda fence together with sticks or with his many toy swords! He's beat me only once... but I was tired, had a tiny, flimsy plastic sword and he had a stirdy stick, and my muscles were hurtting from doing 40 pushups and running a mile for school... I watch movies and slow down the movies to learn the moves!

^Haha, my brother's 8, and I beat him in 3 seconds with my left hand on top. (I am left handed, but my right arm is stronger, so it's harder left handed). Of course, that was with big, heavy sword things, we don't do it much with sticks, but even so I'd beat him quickly.

Yay!!!!!!!!!!
I had my first fencing lesson!
*dances like crazy*
It was so much fun... I love it...
But what's the term for moving backwards? And the one when you go from alonge to the arm for the en guarde position?
I forgot and I'm trying to remember.

Oh gosh, I need to revive this baby.
Going to add you all =]
Update on me: I had to quite fencing lessons for a season because of financial issues, but I'm hoping to start again SOON. Like, six months at the most. I'm dying without feeding my sword addiction...

Last night I had my 3rd lesson... I finally got to gear all the way up and fight... won the second match against someone who was also kinda new to it.
But the first I only got 2 hits in.
I do epee... and it's nice being a shortie for that one - toe hits really surprise them.

This is wonderful Nightingale! Isn't it a wonderful feeling to get all geared up? *sigh* I can't wait till I can get in a club again... the absence from it is driving me batty. Yesterday I was doing some practice with a friend... and my footwork has gotten really bad. Have you learned the Feint Deceive tecnique yet? Well, it's really simple, but I parried too early and messed the whole thing up. I want to be in a club again so badly.
So Nightingale, where are you taking lessons from? Epee is pretty good, I still am a fan of foil though.
We gt a club banner now, see front page.
