[continues with the silly discussion turned in-depth]
That's true, I think you're right about the Ministry's censorship on Cedric/Harry's proclaimations on how Voldy's back. But! If they don't believe what Cedric says, then how do they explain Harry's disappearance? Sirius and Lupin are probably grieving and totally in angst mode because they couldn't save James's son! That would totally make them go crazy and resent Cedric Diggory's escape and having now be endowed with Harry's 'power'.
I'm curious as to what Hermione and Ron would be like. They would grieve. They loved Harry. Bestfriends forever! But would they look towards Cedric as their new Harry? Definitely not Ron. Hermione, possibly, feeling it's her duty to Harry's memory.
Prophecy: I would think that the prophecy would no longer be true. That the ball would break within the Department of Mysteries. And it's very much possible that Voldemort is oblivious to Cedric's suddenly turning into his new line of connection. Would Cedric form the scar? If so, would it be visible on his forehead? Or will his symbol be different? Harry's scar was a symbol Voldemort's touch and transfer of power, but Voldemort did not touch Cedric, I don't think, unless Harry/Cedric were hit with some number of spell and it backfired to form a different spell...
If Harry was the only person able to destroy Voldemort, than I don't think Cedric would get that task. Cedric would probably go to Dumbledore for help, but I would think Cedric would have second thoughts on trying to go up against Voldemort. I mean, he had a perfect life. His father was part of the Ministry of Magic. He's a Prefect. He's popular. He has the most beautiful girl in school. What more could he want? He changed yes, but was it for the better?
EDIT:
WOW! We're talking about it like it really happened! lol

Lupin is pretty mature, I think he could deal with it and try to help the situation that they're now in. Sirius not so much. He'd do something stupid. Hermione wouldn't replace him in terms of her friendship with Harry, but when she realizes what happened she would encourage him to fulfill his "role" as the boy who lived About the prophecy, well Cedric couldn't actually pick it up so we would never learn about the prophecy. Small plot hole. Oh wait, Dumbledore knew the propehcy but he would tell Cedric what it was? If he believed it was now his job to kill Voldemort he would. Well...actually...Cedric turned up....so it wouldn't be a disappearance...I don't remember their explaination about his death though...Wild boar? No? What if a NEW prophecy was formed and Snape finds out from DD, he runs to Voldie, and then Voldy has to alter his plans of world domination and have to come up with a plot to get rid of ANOTHER Boy Who Lived? I kinda feel sorry for Voldy, now. [sigh] Quote: Quote: I would think Cedric would have second thoughts on trying to go up against Voldemort. I mean, he had a perfect life. This dealing as to whether or not he changed and that he didn't care about being popular anymore. How would everyone look at him? Half would be happy he escaped. Half against him because he has brought news of Voldy and he possibly murdered Harry. How would Cho look at him?

Hmm... Perhaps if Harry wasn't killed... If he threw himself in front of Cedric during the Abra Cadaver curse, and they fought Voldemort together, came back friends, both holding the TT cup, as they'd planned in the first place, became great friends because Harry realized that Cedric is a very good influence, and co-starred in the series! Ron and Hermione and everyone would accept Cedric because Harry approves of him, and everyone lives happily ever after -- after someone kills Voldemort, of course. So, what do you think?

Thanks, Beria. Maybe I should intro myself in the intro section. I was thinking about doing it, but then, hmm.. I saw "CEDRIC DIGGORY" lol.xP It just caught my eye.=)

Personally? I think Beri's and I's alternative universe is more exciting. Because c'mon, happy ever after? Totally overrated nowadays.
"Harry who?"

Understandably But we do have a welcoming team all revved up to welcome you
So were y'all fans of Cedric when you read the books? Yes I just said y'all. *is disgusted with self*
Well, I wasn’t really a fan. I thought he was a really nice guy, and I didn’t not like him

Well I think Cedric was JKR's weakest developing character, he was mentioned in Book 3, nothing much, and suddenly he's Harry's rival in love, he's Harry's rival in the tournament, he's Harry's rival in Hogwart's general student body favoritism.
We don't really get a sense of what kinda person he is besides what people say about him, the small scenes with him, etc.
I was not a fan of Cedric, he seemed almost invisible!

But isn't that the way life is? It sorta sneaks up on you. Being a writer myself, I can sympathize with her : sometimes I'm writing, and I think : whoa! Where did [b]that[b/] come from! ...But then, as I think on it, I realize that yes, this is a part of the story, and I can't change it, and if I try, the story will not be good. So I can see how it might happen...
I, personally, did like him : he reminded me of Sam. *Ahem* *Points to sig* But my post doesn't count, I suppose, as I haven't seen the movies at all.

How about imagining it for yourself? It's much better than the emotion any special effect could produce.
