I can't remember if I've mentioned it or not on here, but behindthename.com and surnames.behindthename.com are great sites for finding character names. I always have trouble with chosing names. (Then I usually change them 15 times before making up my mind. lol)

I usually don't have a particular strategy for making up names except just randomly thinking one up from the top of my head. If it fits, I end up using it.

I've just finished writing a short fantasy story (my definition of short being around 50 pages). It's called Heart of Valor, and it's about elves. I have some of it typed up and if anyone wants to read it, I'd be happy to email it to you :D
(aka I'm dying for someone to read it )

I know what you mean! I am always changing my characters names! lol! Unless I come up with a brillant idea. lol! :P

For 'Peace and Harmony' I didn't have a whole lot of choice... lol.

Oh, by the way, what did you guys think of it? I could post others if you want to see them!!!

My strategy for thinking up names? I usually just find something that goes well together and roll with it. I might find a name that means something, like something to do with the ocean or water for a sailor, etc. My most recent character names are Johnny, Gisele, and Lilly Delacourt for my new story. The three of them move into a haunted house in Salem and bad things start to happen.

Sounds interesting Jack. Usually if I can't think of a name. I go to a baby name website. I tend to lean towards unique, not your everyday names myself. Like in my recent story, Adianna, Heaven, Brenton are just some of the main characters.

If I'm writing a story that takes place in a certain area of the world, like one I'm working on that takes place in Ireland, I'll look on behind the name to get ideas. Sometimes I choose names based on their meanings, or just for their sound. The characters I've been working on most recently are- Brendan, Seanna, Ciara, Connor, Devin (In one story). Brody, Kristy and Mr. Henderson in another, and Eryn and Lyssa in yet another! lol

*pokes club*

I don't have much to say about writing today though. I haven't written anything new or exciting lately.

I like using names for meanings too. I really like finding all the different meanings of names, and seeing how they all fit together.
I haven't been writing much lately, more working on character plans.

I haven't been writting too much lately either, I'm kind of at a stop right now- I'm not sure what to write next. Besides, I've been sooooo busy lately.

Elenya and Arwen! I know exactly how you feel. School just recently started for me and I've been crazy busy lately. I've come to a scary hault! all my friends have said to me that i'll get my writing inspiration back when things calm down. But it's a little freaky because I've never felt this un-inspired before.

Okay, new prompt! In light of International Talk Like A Pirate Day (Sept 19th), write something pirate related. ^_^

I'll write something and post it later. XD
