Hmmm I want to go and work at a ski resort... to me it appears to be the job of my dreams. Now I just need to learn skiing properly... I think it's great to go travelling, especially now when you have the time for it.
Remind me again, what are you getting a degree in, i mean what kind of job do you want to apply for when the time comes?

Geeez, Elanor. You seemed to have everything lined up and planned out!
I'm totally incapable of that. I TRY so hard to....but then, never happens. XD *siiiiiigh* I'm just perpetually procrastinating and unorganized. And I totally hate it. But it SOOOO sounds like fun!!
And I agree with all this talk about not feeling my age when you compare yourself to people who've "settled down" so to speak by my age. What's crazy though, I know a lot of people who are getting engaged/married. And they're MY age. And I know people who are already having kids!!! My cousin, who's 2 months older than me just had a baby girl! Who's the cutest little baby EVER! I've appointed myself her psuedo-aunt because I can never technically be an aunt (as I'm an only child ).
And I've just realized, I think...since I don't REALLY act my age...being that crazy, cool aunt is totally right for me.

Welcome Melkorpwns and Val

I'm doing a degree in Philosophy which leads to no obvious jobs at all So I really don't know what kind of job I'd like to do.
What are you others who're at uni or college studying?

wow, i haven't been in here in ages (in fact, i think it's still my old username - eowyn of ithilien - on the members list).
i've read through the last couple of pages, so i'll try and catch up.
@ rose - i hope you're enjoying uni
@ JF/the grim reaper - i live with a 24-year old who still gets giddy about making paper snowflakes, so you really don't need to worry about not acting your age
@ ea - that's pretty much how our academic year works here in england. semester 1 is september to december, and our first exams are in january; then semester 2 is january - may, with exams in may and june.
@ melkorpwns and val - welcome!
with regards to the current question, i'm studying english language and literature, which is great because i absolutely love it, and an english degree will get you pretty much anywhere.
oh, and on a random age-related note, i bought pulp fiction yesterday (which is rated 18 in britain) and i didn't get IDed. i was pretty surprised, given that people normally tell me i look 16 (i'm actually 19). maybe i'm finally beginning to look my age.

The bottum of page three this time.. not so bad.. or?
People confuse me... I thought Starbuck was only a Halloween name... didn't you go use to go by another name?
And Ziltoid... did you change your name as well?
I really wanted to post in this club so I've been wringing my brain to come up with a topic all while I searched for this club... a topic for adults...or actually just any topics for since we are all legally adults, anything we choose to talk about would fit the description... oh my god... I think I lost myself in the reasoning... I blame it on the wine... ohh... would that be a topic? Talking about alkohol... how people view it? Personally, I'm not much of a drinker.. but I had some really good red wine last night at my aunt's birthday. Generally, I prefer white wine over red wine... I simply don't think my taste buds have developed enough to like wine...
Ohh another thing is with food. I used to love all kinds of cheese when I was a kid but now I can only eat melted cheese. On the other hand I've been accustomed to avocado, garlic... and some other foods that I didn't like - or didn't think I liked when I was younger...
So the topic is food and drinks... dig in

I don't even know what piddled means - though I do get the idea And no.. perfectly unintended... whatsoever... I think you might over-interpret things here, lol.
I want to be a distinguished whisky feinschmecker and marry a Scotsman... but alas I don't like whiskey... you're right... it's the drink from hell...

Only children, UNITE! Ha ha ha ha ha ha!
I'm studying Political Science with an option in International Relations. And I LOVE it. It's funny, I applied to the university as a Psychology student, but then changed my mind after I got accepted and before I'd ever taken a class. XD I've still no idea what changed my mind. But it just feels right.
@Starbuck: Mechanical engineering?! That sounds so cool! I wish I was smart enough to do that. Ha ha ha ha. That's what my aunt does. I didn't get any of the smart genes in my family. (Two of my grandparents were teachers, one's a mechanical engineer, one's a radiologist, one's a musician, one's a nurse, my mom's a lawyer...me? I got nothin'! XD)
Drinking....oh boy. Well, I'm not really a drinker. I've never really liked the taste of alcohol. Ha ha ha ha ha. But this summer, my cousin who plans on bartending down in some club in California begged me to have him make me a drink for my birthday. 3 shots later....ummm....driving an hour down the most dangerous highway in Montana was the most interesting night of my life. Ha ha ha!
A couple weeks later, he made me something called a Mai Tai. VERY good. But, I just don't really like alcohol. The taste of it just makes me gag. Although, there are some that SMELL really good. This summer, one of the guys I worked with had some sort of whisky...god, I wish I remember what it was called. I remember it was made in Oregon, but I smelled it and nearly started chugging it. XD XD XD Which would've been BAAAAAD. And then there's this whiskey, called "Fighting Cock." Jack Daniels x 100. It will MESS YOU UP. Not that I've had it...but I've seen the effects of it.
And I don't really mind those that drink. I'm generally the DD when it comes to my friends.
