^Well, it is all pretty busy and I sometimes wish that a day had 48 hours, but it's still okay. The only thing that's really bad is that I usually go to uni in the morning and return home in the late afternoon or evening, as there are quite many breaks between the single lectures. I'd rather have the lectures put closer together and be home earlier then, but that's how it is.
Yeah, I've recognized that all the jokes about lawyers who hardly leave their offices are true somehow. I was in a book shop together with a friend and we found a satire about laywers which was really brilliant. When we were looking at the time we spend at uni already, we both knew instantly that all the prejudices are true. But I've also been speaking to friends who are studying some economy stuff or sociology and they're pretty busy as well. I guess people in the first semester just take everything still a bit too serious. But it's really a pity that you don't see your friends that often. Most of my friends are studying in different cities as well and they have completely different schedules, so meeting them is almost impossible and even talking to them via the phone is getting hard.
Well, I try to learn while I'm in the train as often as possible, but mostly I'm riding the train together with two other girls who study law and get on the train on the next station. And if there are three girls together it's always very hard not to talk, but to read silently in your books. So, we've finally decided to go through some cases together once a week and to try to find the solutions together, which is quite much fun.
Aww, that's bad. I hope it'll all work out fine nevertheless. Our uni and its libraries are closed till Jan. 6th, so for all the poor guys from higher semesters who have their final exams very soon it's quite bad as well.
I guess I'll be going to England, Scotland, Ireland or Wales for my internship. I'd love to go to New Zealand, Australia or the US, but the internship will just be for 3 or 4 weeks and therefore a stay in a country that far away is much too expensive. Spain would be wonderful as well, but unfortunately I won't be able to deal with English/ American law there.
Hmm, okay. I like warm weather, but too hot isn't good as well. I really agree with you that 25°C is totally enough. Especially if you have a room with no airconditioning and many mosquitos. But I think in Spain it also depneds on the region you choose. Do you already know where you'll stay? And do you already speak Spanish or will you be learning it there during your stay?

Sometimes I wish the day had 48 hours as well, but then again... it would just be like two days and the result would end up being the same... or even if the day had 25 hours.. same thing...
It sounds like fun that you can spend the long, boring commuting time with amiable (my new favorite word!) people, even though you don't get to study much. Social life is such an important part of (student) life and since you have so little time to see your other friends... I miss seeing all my friends but I see most of whom I want to see mostly when I want to see them... ehh... complicated? It is...!
Aww, I'd love to go anywhere in the UK, I hope you get to go a place you want to there! So exciting!
Concerning Spain, I'm going to Seville, in South-Western Spain so it will be really hot in late spring but hopefully I'll get used to it. I haven't figured out where I'm gonna stay. I think it's relatively easy to find a room in a shared apartment, so my plan (if you can call it a plan) is to just go there and look for something. I want to see it before I agree to it so I might need to stay at a hostel/hotel for the first couple of days. I do know some Spanish already but nothing impressive. I used to be able to speak it so well so I could carry a conversation and write a simple text but it's a very long time ago. It'll be interesting to see how difficult the classes will be for me...

Just finally got time to get on and post to say I'm engaged! Apparently he asked my father the Friday before I went out to visit (so a few days before Christmas) and as we were driving from his friend's house in the country to dinner with some other folks on Saturday, talking about how I liked it, he wanted to know how I'd like staying here with him and then said I'm perfect for him, etc.
I *never* imagined someone proposing in a car, while you're driving to dinner. It's been weird to mostly keep this quiet as we ordered the ring together on Sunday and it won't be here until the 5th (I hope! Otherwise I won't get it until later since I"m flying home on the 6th) and he prefers no general announcement to his and my local friends until I have the "usual token" as he put it. But of course I'm able to tell others, so I thought I'd post it on here.

Well, you're right, but at least the days before an exam should be longer. It is great to be together with the two. The hour we spend in the train goes by much faster then. And I agree that social life is really important. Well, I had the chance of talking to my old friends via phone now over the last few days, which was already really great. We'll meet in the semester holidays, so it just a bit more than a month before we all see each other again. To be honest, I've never thought that it would be so difficult to keep in contact. But I really look forward to February now. I guess I'll ask some older students about their experiences with the internship programme and then pick a nice spot that sounds interesting. I'm sure your trip to Spain will be exciting. Hmm, your plan sounds good. Going there and having a look at the people with whom you're going to share your apartment is definitely better than arranging it now and realizing that the guys are totally weird. I'm sure everything will work out fine. Well, I've been learning Spanish at school for three years. I've been quite good at it, but I haven't spoken Spanish for almost a year now. It's sad how fast you tend to forget about languages. Ivreniel wrote: Just finally got time to get on and post to say I'm engaged! That's so exciting, dear! I wish you and your fiancé good luck!

Thank you! It's very exciting. This year I'm sure I'll be as eager for school to let out as the kids I'm going to look at gowns tomorrow. At least that's the plan.

He's a bit older than I am. I'll be 24 on valentine's day this year, and he's born the year of star wars:a new hope, making him 30, although he looks younger; a co-worker who has been a friend since before I got my job at the school teased me once "he's been well-preserved for you"
So yeah, I'm a bit older on this site. I remember the days here back long before I actually hit the membership button (I was in my teens) and my sister Arsa was in her early teens, friends with Arwen, one of the few people to be on here "come on, join our chat!" and my response? "But you're all 3-6 years younger than I am! Oh, how silly of me, I know, since when the site *grew* I actually did come to my senses and join, but i was dedicated to CoE for a bit there.

Congratulations Ivreniel! I wish the best of luck, peace, and happiness for both of you.
Sorry if that seems odd coming from a complete stranger. I was poking around the site and found this club. It's a great idea. Sometimes I just can't help feeling really old...
Anyway, do you mind if I join?
