By the way I LOVE your horse banner. The quote is lovely, and the picture of the Arab is amazing!! So shiny and elegant looking!

Well, that's good she's not dangerous. Dancer will be five this month and she listens to me, but you have to teach your horse now to respect you or you'll have problems. Here's a tip if when your longing, if your horse is looking away at you, tug at the longe line until she looks at you. Hope this helps, but to get your horse to respect you, it takes time...and consistency

Yeah thats what I have been doing. My friend is teaching me some stuff as well. The other day I lunged her and she was listening pretty well! Then I got her to back up by waving the lunge line, and got her to switch directions on command! I was soo happy :) Shes even coming up to me in the fields when she sees me!

^Haha Shadowfax'sLastStand what a odd choice of food for your horse to eat :P

Whoa I free lunge my horse and she's really good about it! i just tell her. " Wlak" really lazy. then "trot" with a little pep, but with her canter it usually takes alottle nudging with a clap of my hands but if I tell her
" Change Ruby" most of the time she does that other time she just stops because i get my hands wrong.

^Thats really good! You must have done some pretty good training to get her to listen so well. I wish that I could free lunge my horse, but we dont have a round pen. And I wouldnt be able to do it yet in the ring, cuz she would probably be all over the place. Ive only had her for about 3 months so far, but hopefully we can work on that. She usually walks when I tell her to, and trots if I click my toungue. And she picks up the canter pretty nice if I kiss to her. She was taught another way to stop, so i have been trying to retrain her to stop if I tell her to ho, but sometimes its takes her awhile. Its alot of work, but so rewarding in the end! :D

Haha Tin, and your welcome :) I would never be able to make anything like that on photoshop. Then again I dont even have that on my computer

Hehe, I love photoshop.

It is always so rewarding when you get results. Not just with horses, but with all animals. I know when I train my dog and she does what she's supposed to, I feel so good.

Awww im sorry :( Thats really horrible. Diesel is a really cool name. Whats his full name? A horse at my barn, Morgan, is also terrified to go in the trailer. She will do it but she breaks into a sweat and freaks out. I think her pervious owners were really rough with her and stuff. I hate when people mistreat horses. Its not right at all. Expecually with training some people beat the horses to get them to do what they want

Diesel's name totally fits him and his personality. His show name is All Revved Up.

Well its how she was trained, and I have to do it in the breakaway roundpe. its just railroad ties stuck in the ground and pvc lightly glued to each othe. they use just to be safe and it was probably alot cheaper, But when i first got her i had to use a whipthe whole time and sometimes i even had to pop her with it to get her moving. i know it sounds a wee bit cruel, but that's just what i have to do....

I like it!! :)

^Nah Weeziey, dont worry its not that cruel. Just think of a whip as an extended arm :P I sometimes do that with Mia too if she keeps trying to turn directions on me. I have to run after her but and circle her until she stops fighting me, and goes the right way. Its exhausting and annoying

I can free-lunge Dancer, but now I just hop on her because it takes forever to lunge her. I like the idea about bribing her with treats. We did try that (with hay) but she still wouldn't go in. But, she'll go into my neighbor's trailer when we go out to the fair grounds.

A Lot of horses like slat or open trailers better too. So if you're having problems with a two stall, or a divided that might be it. Someone at the ranch bought a split two stall and they couldn't get their horse in it because, first off he gets claustrophobic in his stall, and second because their was no way to step up in the trailer to persuade him to come in. :-D it was actually quite funny!

The trailer they have is a slanted stall, and Dancer dosen't mind going in there. I bet it was funny watching the poor guy load his horse into his trailer.

My horse goes in to the trailer fine. We used to have a horse that you would stand him in front of the trailer and say "trailer up" and he would walk right in with no troble. I saw this guy once trying to load his horse he was standing in the trailer trying to pull it in and at the same time he was poking it in the bace of the neck with a wip. I was funny. he had no clue at all.

Aww poor horsie!! Thats so sad, I dont think people should be allowed to do that :( How long have you had her for? I had to lower my horses feed. She is slightly over-weight. Not a bad thing though because it is the winter. She barley gets any food for breakfast and dinner and she is still so big! All she ever does is eat though. Typical horse for ya :eyeroll:
