He died protecting Senator Kelly, if I remember correctly.
I noticed the other night, when I watched The Last Stand, that Beast almost seemed to have some levitation powers or something--he almost seems to float to the ground when the X-men reach Alcatraz. I don't remember that from the comics--did they invent it for the movies, or is it really just my mind playing tricks on me?

Yeah he did.
Beast just jumped, with his legs being so strong and powerful he can jump pretty far and high when need be.
It was just an odd effect that was used I think, or a badly edited shot.

I had always thought he just jumped, but last time I watched it, one of my friends pointed out that he didn't hit the ground nearly hard enough. It was like a gentle landing, which looked kind of weird.
Thanks for reassuring me, though. I wouldn't have been happy if they had added to Beast's mutation.

I think it looked so gentle was because of Storms winds. It does definetly look funny though.

Actually, I saw X3 before X2.
As you might have guessed... I was mightily confuzzled.
But then I went back and watched X1 and 2.
