I don't typically watch movies where characters die in them.. so I can think of a very few amount of people.
The newest one that comes to mind in the king in Shrek. It was funny when he died, and the funeral, but he was still a loving father.

It sounds like the kind of movie that I would like.
I also miss Harry (I think that is his name) in Spiderman. Mean writers kill him off right when he turns good.

I also miss the villian in Spiderman 2, which I forget the name of. I really really wanted all of the villians to team up against Spiderman like on the ride, and, with one of the main ones dead, that would pose a problem.

May I join? (Btw, love your banners, LadyOfRohan! Dumbledore is one of my favorites... I was so sad when he died. And Sirius, too.)

If you post any spoilers.. post them in navy, that is what Kit instructed.
Also, may we mourn characters not in HP at the same time just because I am not a huge HP fan, so I haven't read any of the book/watched the movies.
