"Molly..." Tonks started, as she watched her bustle around the kitchen whipping things up that would have taken her hours to make.

"I know dear, but I'll be done in a jiffy." she answered.

"But....I... no... er..." Tonks managed to get out.

Remus was beaming in the living room. "You have perfect timing." he said to the rest of the Weasleys.

Before Tonks could get another word out Molly had stopped the oven and threw out the ham [which was definitely still solid cold]. "Erm....I'll...uh....be leaving you then..."

Molly waved reassuringly and brought out a dusty old pan and enchanted it to clean itself in the sink.

Tonks scratched her head and headed out feeling quite down for being kicked out of her own kitchen, not that she was in her kitchen alot.

Arthur Weasley and Harry were around the Christmas tree in the corner. Harry was fidgeting because Arthur continued to ask him about the wires wrapping around the tree...."Brilliant muggle invention, isn't it?"

While their father was busy and their mother out of the room they were showing Remus their newest invention for their Weasleys Wizard Wheezes [was that right?] and so that was how Tonks saw them doing as she walked in. Charlie and Bill along with a very tall Kingsley were counting all the muggle fairy tale books that were in the bookcase. Seeing everyone occupied, Tonks went to the drawer in the hallway and took out a box shoving it in the closet. 'Well, Remus definitely won't be getting this tonight.' Tonks sighed.

Remus looked at her and he thought he saw a sweat glisten from on top of her forehead next to her blue bangs. "I said 'What are you doing?'" He repeated.

"Oh, well, I'm just stowing away those potatoes that I found. Molly said she didn't need those. Apparently she brought her own supplies." Tonks gave a lopsided smile. She was good at lying. Bad at getting surprised. Why d'you think she got in trouble so much at Hogwarts? Tut, tut.

"Ah, so Molly'll be cooking then?" Remus mused, very much happy at this relevation.

"Yep!" Tonks said as cheerily as she could. "Now we don't have to starve."

"Don't you know it's the storage closet for food? I keep my instant foods in here, my ramen --- those brilliant Japanese wizards are really something, my---" Tonks rambled.

"Tonks?" Remus called to her as she began to explain about Russian bread.

"Yes, Remus?" Tonks stopped and look up at him.

"Happy Christmas." Remus said with a small smile.

Tonks stopped dead and stared at him. Well that was the last thing she expected from him at that moment.

"Uh---yeah. Yes. A very merry Christmas." Tonks smiled and looked down at her feet nervously. She hated being trapped too.

Lupin took Tonks arm and lead her back into the living room, that was bustling with people.

"Molly's almost done with dinner." he told her softly.

"She what? Oh, well that's good." Tonks said, glad for the change of topic.

"I forgot to tell you, the house looks beautiful dear, and so do you." Lupin said sweetly, beaming down at her.

"Oh yes. Thank you." Tonks replied taking a look at her decorated house again. The lights were strung up perfectly and the mistletoe was basically under every door. Yes, she was quite proud of herself. She definitely wouldn't've done it if Remus wasn't coming for dinner.

It's sad though. Here, the thought entered her mind that tomorrow it'll just be an ordinary gloom house again.

"Oy! Tonks, y'want to see our new invention?" George Weasley asked her. She was sitting on the couch between Remus and George. It was George right? Before she could answe---

"Boys! What if one light gets unscrewed?" Arthur Weasley asked curiously and Fred frantically threw his arm around his father and led him over to the tree. "Well, that's quite easy, Pops--- see, I mean we do this all the time at school with the magic bulbs. They can never prevent us from tho--"

"Well then, see here Tonks!" George hushed her to lean in. As she did. "This ball can basically change shapes to fit your needs."

"I beg your pardon!" Tonks exclaimed.

"Not like THAT!!" George exclaimed hushly and looked over his shoulder to see Fred amazing their father with untwisting and twisting the bulb so that all the lights were flashing. Remus turned a bit of a cranberry color. "Y'see here, inside, you can summon anything you want --- without needing your wand! Anything! You can even summon your wand! You can summon chocolates, quills, inks---"

"Homework!" Ron called from the far corner where he, Hermione and Harry were playing with Tonk's neon colored fish.

"Yeah, homework too, WHAT?!? Homework? Who would want homework?" George said turning to Ron, then remembered Tonks and continued "We think this is going to be a big seller -- 'specially cause of it being Christmas and all."

Arthur started tapping one of the lights.
"Why isn't it lighting up anymore?" he asked Fred quite confused.

"Its probably just burned out Dad," Fred explained, "you need a new bulb."

"I'm going to see how Molly's doing in the kitchen." Tonks said to George as much as everyone else in the room. She backed into the kitchen and once in there took a deep breath.
