Also, Vala is the end of the road (except for mod, but most of us won't ever be in THAT club  )So people hit Vala, and can't go any farther. Oh well, we can enjoy being a Maia while it lasts! _________________

Exactly. And there will always be new comers that will eventually become a Maia (hopefully) so there will always be Maia's around whether or not you're one of them.
