Umm.. wow... that list is LOONG... I never heard of hardly any of those sub-genres... (frankly I doubt that anyone would know all of them... err. at least I hope they don't.. that'd be freaky..)

I could prolly list all if not most of them.
But I have been listening metal since I was 11 years old, and Ive heard at least one band from every sub-genre around.

I can't stand elitists really. I'll listen to whatever band I enjoy listening to, I don't care for the whole "if you're a real metal-head you shouldn't be listening to this or that band".. like who died and made them presidents of the Metal Society?! So long I enjoy the music I don't really see what the problem is, you know *shrugs*

Exactly.
I'll be honest when I was about 16/17 I went through this whole 'if it aint metal (see Black/Death) I dont want to know'. I have grown up substantially since then and it bugs me when I see others do it, especially when they are old enough to know better.
They need a smack.

But then again, I have a problem with Nu-Metal being seen as Metal... I know it is, but it's just not... Metal in my book if you know what I mean

I see it as Metal..but bad metal.
If people like it, that's cool. But I happen to think it's less than garbage.
I cannot relate to it in any way. I think I liked Korn back in 92/93, back then they were refreshing but they just became stale and boring.
Linkin Park I find truly repellant, I cannot listen to that guys voice without wanting to tear my face off.
