Heya Eä! Good to have you. :-D

Hmm.. some people just don't feel the need to get married. I think it's a tremendous show of trust if you've been together that long without tying the knot.

Actually, I can't imagine AR having kids. He seems much too "up there" for that. But hey, I could be wrong. Parenthood changes everyone.

No, I can't think of him having kids either. Although I'm sure he's make a great dad... I mean who wouldn't want such an awesome actor as a dad. :D

Lol! I'd sign up right away! :P I used to think having Johnny Depp for a dad would be pretty awesome as well.

You'd have to get there before me first. :sly:

:P

Ooh, yeah, I think he'd be a great dad. A bit wacky and eccentric... but good. :-)

Is that a challenge? :P

:sly:

Anyway, I was going to watch Robin Hood today, but it seems I've lost my dvd. :( I shall have to be content with S&S then. Maybe I can find that supposed laugh we've been talking about.

Lol, it could be. :teehee:

Aw, poor you. :( I haven't seen that for a long time... and I have never seen it unedited... :duh: ... I may well just have to watch it..unedited for once... ;) Kevin Costner is pretty bad in it, he's much better playing characters that aren't famous Britains. :P But Alan steals the film from him easily so... :eyeroll:

Oo, niether have I! I dunno if you can rent the unedited version... I guess I'll just have to buy it! Yay! :P

Sorry, but I thought Costner was awful. Alan is freakin' awesome though [as usual]! Lol. I just saw RH: Men in Tights yesterday and there was a line in there that made fun of Kevin's accent. Gave me a good laugh it did. :teehee:

No, I meant unedited in as much as... certain sections of it being edited out... swearing etc.... :eyeroll: ... that's my mum's doing.

I said for years that Costner was a really bad actor. He isn't actually. I saw him in Open Range and he was superb. He just wasn't right for the role of Robin Hood and neither was the dude who played Will... and I can't remember his name now. :P

Ah. :duh: Trust me to jump on any opportunity to see more Alan Rickman.. :P

I don't think I've seen him anywhere else so I can't say much about him elsewhere. I just didn't think he was good at all. *shrugs*

No, I agree he wasn't much good. I don't know if you are familar with the 1930's Robin Hood film? The Adventures of Robin Hood? And whether you are familiar with the actor James Cagney? Well the role of Robin Hood was written specifically for him, but he wisely turned it down. Now, I love James Cagney and I dilike Errol Flynn (who did play Robin Hood) but there is no way James Cagney would have been any good as Robin. Sometimes actors just make the wrong choice when it comes to roles.

Something I have yet to say about Alan. :P

I had no idea there was a 1930s version! I do recognise the name Errol Flynn, but not James Cagny. Anyway, you're completely right!

Hehe.. of course Alan always makes the right choices. :P Did you know he turned down his role in Robin Hood twice before he finally gave in I guess you could say?

Thank you for the warm welcome! :-)

I think he was absolutely fabulously spectacular in Robin Hood, and yes, he does steal the whole spotlight.. but rather play the evil villain who has no reason for his evil actions than the good and righteous hero... who gets whiney brunette with fluffy 80s hair! :P

Not sure what think of Costner's acting skills... he might just have chosen some parts that were bad for him. I tend to like him better in his later films.. I'm going to watch Mr Brooks soon...

Larael, do you know why he turned down the part as the Sheriff in the first place?

No, I didn't know that Larael. Thankees! :-) I'm not too fond of the 1930's Adventures of Robin Hood, it's not bad, but it is seriously over-rated.

He could have turned it down, maybe for fear of being typecst as a villain. He had played a few villains around the time of Robin Hood.

He usually steals each scene he is in no matter what the films. One reviewer said once he steals every scene he is in and eats the set.

@ Eä: I believe he was afraid he wouldn't have licence to do what he wanted with the character. Apparently the director told him he could do whatever he liked as long as he'd do it. Which of course, I'm glad he did.

@ JF: Lol. I believe it! Although the eating the set sounds a bit much.. :P *looks up 1930s Robin Hood*

@ Inwe: *pat pat* You should definitely rent RH. It's a wonderful movie, if not a bit post-90s-ish.
