Welcome! Indeed. Welcome to the Homework Help Club. A club founded on the generosity of others. We all have, or have had homework. Things that we puzzle over. Things that we really can't do. Maybe you'd like some revision techniques. Tips on Mindmapping... In this club we help each other. We're not going to do your homework for you, but we can always give a helping hand where needed. A point in the right direction. So join the bandwagon if you'd like. Maybe you can help someone, and perhaps someone will be able to help you in your time of need. Click on the helpers' names if you'd like to PM one of them for help, rather than posting in the thread. ![]() Helpers - Estë Undómë - English; History; R.E; IT. - Elegost Eruaphadion - English, ICT; Maths (Particularly Algebra.) - Captain Faramir - Fíriel_18190 - Rose of Rivendell - English; German; Spanish; History; Maths; Latin. - timtimtimtim - World History; Latin; Science. - eowyn of ithilien - English Language and Literature; Christian Theology. - Caunion the Frost Lord - Maths; Science. - Shadowcat - English. - Lady Dark Moon - English. - The Nightingale - History; English; Literature. - Kess - ~RinielAranel~ - Nauriel Rochnur - Science; English; Catholic Theology; Maths (up to Algebra 2.) - Valera Elenhathel - Maths; Physics; Chemistry; Computer Programming; English Literature and composition; World History; International Relations/Poli Sci; some French. - TrueNarnian - English; History. - Eä - lady_Ëarwen - Porteuse de l'anneau - French. - Nurrantiel - Pretty much all subjects. - Beriadanwen - Pre-Calculus; English; History (European); Physics; French. - The Grey Pilgrim - Shadowfax'sLastStand - Language Art; Math; Art. - Smeagol/Gollum - History/War; Science; Latin. - *Bella Swan* - Maths; Literature; English; Welsh. - LadyOfRohan - History (Esc. I'll join. I've got something more than a rudimentary knowledge of mathematics and science. |

I'll join, I'm in the top set for everything, and top of the year in Science, but I'm only in year 10, so I doubt I'll be able to help much. Eowyn, here's the basic facts I can rember about limestone. It's also known calcium carbonate or CaCO3. They always ask you about how it's used in separating iron from its ore, which is quote simple. The heat of the blast furnace causes a decomposition reaction, spliting it into calcium oxide and carbon dioxide. (This is endothermic, so they have to keep the furnace super hot). The calcium oxide reacts with bit of the iron ore, which is made mostly of silicon, separating it to make calcium silicate and your pure iron. The calcium silicate is also known as slag and sits on top of the molten iron. It's other uses are in building, but it isn't very good as it's expensive and acid rain is a huge problem cos it's alkaline. It's also used in other obscure things like making clothing fibres and toothpaste, but I don't know anything about that. |
