Okay, you can teach me how to post pics on this site

The simplest way is to upload the picture to your photo hosting site, get the URL, copy and paste it into the thread, highlight it, then click on Img above. Preview what you've done and, if you like it, submit it.

Hmmm....okay, I will give it a try.

This is Khaleesi on the day I brought her home, one year ago today, October 28, 2014. That is Drago giving her a nice welcome.

We are having a cat discussion in another forum and I think it should be moved to this forum.

We had a very interesting conversation about cat vaccinations.

Okay, who wants to talk about cat food and cat litter?

Let's talk!

How often do you find yourself buying both? Once a month or more?

I buy canned cat food once a week. I divide a big can between all of them as sort of a breakfast treat. I get a 22 pound bag of dry every two weeks. I am talking Friskies here.

As for litter, I used to get 2 jugs of Cat's Pride Complete every week. It is a clumping litter. I have 5 littler boxes.

I have just recently changed litter though. I am trying a new type called silica gel. It is like little crystals. All you do is scoop out the poop and then stir it up. The pee just sort of blends in. I do not know how often I will have to change this type of litter. I do not think you can just add to it. The stuff gets dumped out and new is put in. I just started with this type of litter so I don't know how it will go. So far, my cats like it, it does not smell one bit and there is no dust.

Yeah we can't have the scented or gel or anything fancy. We have dogs who sometimes get in and it would hurt them if we used that also our cats break out when the scented or fancy stuff is placed in so plain clay for us.

and I get Purina Kitten Chow as we have some young kittens among us but our oldest who is four eats it and is getting a little big but still cute!

I am also curious to see if anyone has tried using this litter box called the "Litter Genie" where it cleans itself?

I don't know anyone who has a self cleaning litter box. I saw them in the stores and they are well over $100.

Does the thing make noise when it cleans? I guess it would having a motor.

I am not sure if I would get one of those but there are days when I wish my cats used the toilet. Did you see the training device for that? It is like a ring that fits over the toilet seat and the cat sits on it. Now, I think that would be great. No more cat litter to buy or boxes to clean.

I used to buy the clay kind but haven't used it in about 8 years. I don't like scented stuff either but this silica stuff I found seems pretty good so far.

Post some pics of your kitties, Thranduil.

This is my Mickey Meows sleeping on one of my presents a few years ago. I was delighted that his choice was something sparkly. He died a few days later on New Year's Day.
