Although there's already a Horror and Fear Club, there isn't one just dedicated to Stephen King and his works, so I thought I would start one (or restart it, as the case may be, since the original one hasn't been posted in for about five years). This coalition will not only apply to the books, but the movies and TV series based on them as well.

Here's all the books/movies/TV shows that I've either seen or read:

Carrie (read the book and seen the movie and TV movie)
Pet Semetary
1408 (read the short story three times and own the 2-disc Collector's Edition)
It
The Langoliers
Part of the Tommyknockers
Under the Dome (recently bought the book and am watching the 13-episode TV series)
Stand by Me (read the book and seen the movie; possibly in grade school, I can't remember)

One part that really creeps me out in the movie version of 1408 (starring John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson) is when Mike Enslin is out on the ledge and the room makes all the other windows in the hotel disappear, and it starts barking for some reason. :-o

I'm definitely in!

I've read these Stephen King books:

Pet Sematary
Skeleton Crew
It
Desperation
The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon
Dreamcatcher
Everything's Eventual: 14 Dark Tales
Cell

I've also read "Rage", which was published under the name Richard Bachman. Although it was pulled from print, as it's about a school shooting, and after I think the fifth school shooting where they found connection to the book King said he wanted it out of print.

I've seen these movies/TV-shows based on King's work:
Carrie
Salem's Lot
The Shining (both the movie and miniseries)
Creepshow
Cujo
The Dead Zone
Children of the Corn
Firestarter
Pet Sematary
It
Misery
Sometimes They Come Back
Sleepwalkers
Needful Things
The Shawshank Redemption
The Stand
The Langoliers
Thinner
The Green Mile
Storm of the Century
Rose Red
Dreamcatcher
The Diary of Ellen Rimbauer
Secret Window
Riding the Bullet
Desperation
1408
The Mist
Bag of Bones

I love his work passionately. I read It when I was seven, it's the first Stephen King book I ever read. He is one of my inspirations of wanting to become a writer. My goal is to release one of my works, Insidious, some day and have it dedicated to King as well as Dean Koontz. Two horror authors that have inspired me to write myself.

I've also read Everything's Eventual: 14 Dark Tales (twice). I originally wanted to read it because it contained 1408 (as does Stephen King Goes to the Movies, which also includes Children of the Corn, The Shawshank Redemption, Hearts in Atlantis and the Mangler).

I've also seen part of Secret Window (starring Johnny Depp) and the only Shawshank Redemption adaption I've seen is on that Family Guy episode (which also includes adaptations to Misery and Stand by Me). There's another one on the Simpsons where Homer goes "No TV and no beer make Homer something something" "Go crazy?" "Don't mind if I do!" Is that the Shining? I've never sure about that one. It's during one of the annual "Treehouse of Horror" episodes they have every Halloween. I love those! It also includes one where Groundskeeper Willie terrorizes the Simpson children ala Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Geez, I'm nearly 41 years of age, and I still enjoy cartoons, though I view The Simpsons, Family Guy and American Dad as more adult that those for the kiddies (though I'm sure they watch them too, if their parents allow it) ;-)

Yes, that's from The Shining. The whole idea of that sequence is based on The Shining. Not just that one line. The Simpsons and Family guy and shows like that aren't meant for kids, so I don't think it's strange that an adult would like them since they're made with adults in mind. ;)

I've read Nightmares and Dreamscapes too, where Children of the Corn is included.

If anyone sees this, know that there is an active Middle-earth forum still around from the old days. It is Tolkien Forums. Active with current discussions, and a library of old thread going back to 2001. I recommend registering there.

Also, there is some Middle Earth Roleplaying going on here:
