Yay I want to join! That might motivate me to start running some more again ;-)

Wow, a half marathon! That's amazing! But I read somewhere that the decision to do it wasn't entirely up to you? Must be hard to stay motivated then.

You can join!

Yeah, my parents really wanted me to do it...and they are my parents so I have to but...
I hope I don't end up in last place lol.

Yay!

Yep, it's hard to argue with your parents. What's the longest distance you've run so far? Is it anywhere near half marathon distance?

My longest distance is 11 miles, but I felt dead after that haha!
Hopefully I can pull this off, im honestly not sure!
What is your longest distance?

My longest distance EVER is 7 miles, when I was training for my first 10K. I started running as an addition to my regular martial arts training, and I've never been fond of competitional sports, so I've only done one race: a 10K. Oh and one colourrun :-D Which was awesome!

My brother and I did one once...they are fun!

Yeah they are! Especially because you can dress up and no one will give you weird looks  I wore a tiara and white tights under my running shorts, for some extra colouring possibilities. And the atmosphere was amazing, everyone was so happy and relaxed! Too bad there aren't that many possibilities to do another one over here.

I wish we could do another one too, but now my parents would have to pay for a lot more kids to be fair to the younger ones.
Colorruns are the best though! Was your colorrun a 5k?

Post subject:  Re: Runners/Joggers club

Yep, it was a 5K. I thought all colourruns were 5Ks, to make them more accessible for less experienced runners? Anyway, I'd love to do a 10K colourrun! Maybe that would be a bit less crowded, and there would be twice as much time to get smudged with lovely colours :-D

When did you start running and why did you start it? I started about 2 1/2 years ago, after months of hesitating. I followed a little program to get used to running, and I've been running distances between 5 and 10K twice a week ever since. Except when it's raining, extremely cold, extremely hot or slippery outside. I only run in nice weather

I have been running since i was 6. I hate running when its hot outside, i always get a horrible time!
What is your best 5k time? Mine is about 20 1/2 minutes. My worst is 25 :)

Wow, that's really young! Although I loved to run when I was little, I never did it for sport until I was about 16.

I'm not completely sure what my best 5K time is, but I guess it's somewhere between 20 and 22 minutes. My best 10K (and also the only one officially registered for exactly 10 KM :p ) is 58 minutes. I have run more 10Ks on my own since then, but I never keep exact track of time. I do know I've become faster since then, but I don't know how much.

Yup, running on hot days isn't my thing either. Sometimes I make the effort to get up really early so I can get out for a run at 7AM-ish, but then it's still too hot and sticky to be able to enjoy the run. I'm more of an spring and autumn runner I guess, those temperatures are perfect :-D

Is the landscape near your house very flat, or do you also run hills?

Post subject:  Re: Runners/Joggers club

I run hills a lot they are fun! They do affect my time though.
What about you?

Post subject:  Re: Runners/Joggers club

Erm no, I never run hills  First because I guess I wouldn't like it, but also because there are no hills in the Netherlands. I once tried running on the beach though, and that wasn't something to be repeated either. Maybe I'm a bit of a lazy runner, but forest ground with fallen leaves is about as cross country as I want it :p
