I was told at one time that I would need braces, then the next time I went to the dentist they said I didn't... so I never got them. My teeth don't have that perfect look to them, though.

I really only found that the braces affected the way I spoke for a few days, and after that it either went away or I just got used to it. I never once had trouble being understood or anything, even onstage. Retainers are another story, those make you lisp and make it pretty much impossible to properly say "th" sounds, but those are only worn full-time for about a month anyway...plus they're removable.

I had braces for two years, and they only bothered me for a few days. You'll get used to the feeling of metal in your mouth very quick, just watch out with chewing gum and don't bit on the end of your pencil Your brace won't like that! And just like Ana said: wear the rubber bands when the dentist gives them to you. Actually, just do what the dentist says, it can only decrease the time you have to wear your braces Today I got a sad message: My boyfriend (and his family) own a black shepard dog. He's only five years old, but today they found out he has cancer and can only live for a few more weeks. Ofcourse I also like the dog, but I'm just so sad for my boyfriend and his family, because I know how much the dog means to them. It's hard when people you care about are so sad and you can't do anything to help them..

^Actually, the worst thing is when you see those you love suffer and you can't do anything for them. I have so many friends who suffer depressions or difficult lives.. and I can't reach them.. They don't have the energy to break out of the circle and pains me to watch.
Alright, for a new topic, I have a question on flirting. What is it and when are you flirting? I talked about flirting with a co-worker and it seems that we see it differently. In my world flirting is sort of a half-erotic way to give or get attention from the opposite sex.. Like compliments or playful jokes.. My co-worker on the other hand also categorises smiling, innocent complimenting and other ways to acknowledge people of both sexes as flirting. Because it's simply a way of acknowledging other people around you in a positive way. So, telling your cashier that her hair looks great would be flirting and so would smiling wide to your boss and wishing him a nice weekend. What do you think?

Hmm, I think flirting is when you give someone a special kind of attention, to show you find that person attractive. To use your example Eä, smiling at the cashier is not flirting, unless you find him/her attractive. However, flirting doesn't always have to mean you want something from that person, I think, so it doesn't have to be erotic in any way. For example: My friend and I tend to tease eachother, give compliments and make playful jokes, but we both don't have the intention to date or something. In our case, flirting is just fun, because we know there's nothing behind it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSxdQohNYc4That is flirting. XD But really, I agree with what Lhun said (yeah, I just gave you a nickname. XD) Although I'm not the best person to ask because I've been "accused" of flirting with guys when we're actually not. I think flirting has become a bit blown out of proportion, to the point where any time a girl and guy are friendly/have a conversation/have a witty banter or rapport people automatically assume they're flirting. Flirting can be hard to figure out. There's a boy in my theology class who I've made friends with--he's really polite and nice but we don't talk at all outside of class. However, he always finds the one left-handed desk in the classroom for me and puts it by him so I can sit next to him. Is he flirting with me? I have no idea.

I think people confuse flirting alot with just being nice. But of course, it is hard (especially if you are already taken) to not appear that you are hitting on someone or the other person has to make sure they are not giving the wrong message either... and it is made difficult because flirting is blown out of proportion I think. It's also hard to tell what people are thinking too because some people's version of "being nice" is another's "flirting". Thank goodness some people are really obvious when they flirt. "It's a dangerous business, Frodo....."

I think the definition of flirting varies in my opinion. I think half of the time people call it flirting, I believe is more like a friendly tease, especially when among friends.

Aw, have a hug, Aerli! I can't wait for my April vacation. Seriously. It's so hard to wait! That's when I'm going to see Newsies on Broadway, and I am just so impatient! I know, all of you are probably getting tired of my Newsies spree I'm on. How are you, Aerli? It's been so long!
