I read on the net Peter Jackson wants to make the prelude to LOTR 'The Hobbit'

It would be great if the hobbit actually gets filmed!!!
It was kind of cruel when RotK came out knowing that there wouldn´t be another LotR-movie to follow. However I will never forget the first time I watched the movies. So keeping that in memory and watching the Extended Versions makes it easier to cope with! ;) Peter Jackson rules!!!!!!! :notworthy:

I was kind of dazed when I finished RotK. I kept thinking "It's over!?" because in some ways it seems like the end because of course Frodo leaves, and yet Tolkien leaves it on a note that seems it might go on.

I'm just waiting for all the cut scenes and lost footage to make a 25th anniversary release like PJ says on the director's commentary!

There was no more worrying about if you were going to live through the night with that ring in your posession.

I'd have to agree with you on that one. They left so much out, but of course, it's a movie, and they have to take out a bit (especially since they smashed part of TTT book in there). The parts with Frodo/Sam deffinetly (sp?) weren't so dramatic, but it's hard to write emotions into scripts of movies. I was kind of upset about how they changed the ending so much, but I thought that they did a fine job with the movie, even so.

I was really really sad at the end of the movies and the books. I just couldn't believe that it was all over. I couldn't believe that Frodo had left Middle Earth. I was kind of depressed. I couldn't sleep at all those nights.
But just because I've read the books and seen the movies doesn't mean that LOTR is over for me. I can still re-watch and re-read (I love doing that.) I can read other books of Tolkien's (which I do), and maybe someday I'll get to watch a movie adaptation of one of Tolkien's stories. they are working on getting The Hobbit made into a movie.
Even though the books ended, they were not lost. They're always there when I need a good laugh and a good cry. So really, it wasn't a complete downer after all.

Yes. When I first read RotK I didn't expect Frodo to leave with the elves. When I read it, I felt like I was going to cry, because I thought that Frodo would go back to the Shire with Sam.
