Yes, I wish that the scene between Eowyn and Faramir was in there. It was one of my favorite scenes from the book, and I really wish it was put in.

^ It is in the Extended Edition, but not the theatrical. I've never actually seen the Extended Edition, but I know that's on there. It's one of the reason's I really want to see the EEs! I agree that it would have been nice to have it in the theatrical version though. I really love the story as well.

I want to get the new Limited editons that are coming out. They have the theatrical and EE versions and they have feature length documantaries with all kinds of special behind the scene features.
I've seen parts of that scene in LOTR videos people have made. It looked very sweet. The look on Faramir's face was........ just so sweet. Like everything in the world was right now that he had Eowyn.

That's tough....hmmmm????
I like her better in the books, but miranda did such a great job of portraying her character.

I like her better in the books only because they show aspects of her character that they did not show in the movies. I agree that Miranda Otto did an outstanding job playing Eowyn though, as did pretty much all of the actors/actresses who were in the films. These movies were extreemely well cast.

Yes, I agree that Eowyn was great in the books - alot of things that are in the book are hard to put in movies...
I LOVED Miranda's portrayl of Eowyn in LOTR though!! It was wonderful - better than I thought it would be. No-one could have done better.
I haven't seen the EE's but I would REALLY love to see the bits between Faramir and Eowyn. Can anyone who has seen the EE's please post what happens?? Thanks!!

I liked Eowyn better in the books, because she was more developed; She seemed much more desperate, and despairing, but then you saw the (beautiful) change from cold and feeling unloved and alone, to becoming the healer and Faramir's love.
And the EE scene (I'm not sure where the Theatrical version ended and the EE began, so I'll just say it all) just showed her in bed getting healed by Aragorn, then waking up after everyone leaves and walking to the window and looking out and seeing Faramir (and him seeing her). Then later it shows her standing on a balcony of some sort looking out over the field before the city, and Faramir comes up and they talk and he ends up hugging/holding her.
Rather sweet, imo.

Well, of course the movies don't show as much of Eowyn as the books, but then again, the books...well, the truth is Eowyn isn't a MAIN MAIN MAIN character. The movie has to show the Fellowship, etc. but the books can develop characters as much as they want. There's only so long people can sit still to watch a movie, although the die-hard fans could probably make it, that they couldn't possibly stick in all of Eowyn's scenes.

I love the book Eowyn better. I like the book everything better. They did do a good job in casting Eowyn so that I looked like her, though.
But I much prefer leaving things to the imagination. Even though I'd love to direct movies, I like leaving things to books so one can expand their imagination. So I'd have to say the books.
About the part in HoH not being in the theatrical version, my mom had no clue about Eo & F until she saw the coronation.

True, they do hint at it at the Coronation, but they never elaborate on it as much. They just show them smiling at each other and bowing. There's a suggestion of them as a couple there, but nothing to really verify it. There's much more in the Houses of Healing. I really want to see the EE versions!

There's not THAT much more--it's only about two or three minutes worth. But what's there is definitely awesome.
