I absolutely love the book and the move, but it was all over from there. There was no more adventures of Frodo Baggins. There was no more worrying about if you were going to live through the night with that ring in your posession. It was really sad, especially since Peter Jackson did such a spectacular job on directing the movies. The soundtrack is incredible, the movie series is just as incredible.

Yes, it was very good. But there are no LotR 4 so all we can do is watch all 3 of them over and over again. :-D

That's the part which I am sad about, I am afraid that if there was, the trilogy woudlnt' be as good. I mean, Peter Jackson would have nothing to ,ake the movie upon, except prior knowledge of the books/movies.

Thats why Tolkein left a whole world open to us readers for us to imagine. The width of the entire world created is enormous and there are alot of open questions left. Here is where our imagination must come into play and the fact we can continue to experience that world either through our dreams, art, writing and so on.... that is the real beauty of it, much better then close the book completely and leave no loose ends.

and if we get really bored, write fanfics. :) or parodies, your pick, your poison. 8) there's always a critic out there.

Exactly you can always write some relevant stories or playing LotR RPG's, but of course it cannot be the same withthe books.

Yeah, LotR RPGs are always fun, if (like me) you just stink at writing Fanfics.

Hey thats true Nazgultte! It is quite sad that there are no more LOTR, but we should be thankful for what we got and be happy that they were done so well.

The books and the movies are both wonderfully done and it was sad indeed when it all came to an end, but all I can say is that all good things can't last forever unfortunately. :(

Well. I have only read the trilogy once. (including the hobbit) but I started them over, im on FOTR now and I find that the second time you read it its not like most books you still enjoy it cuase theres so much that you could forget, so much detail.

^hear, hear. Exactly my thoughts. The stories never get less interesting because there is so much of it. Always bits you forget, or interesting discriptions that always reclarify your veiw of middle-earth. And of course, if there is an end you feel urgently needs tidying up, Tolkien left it open for all of us, so you can tidy it yourself, by way of a fan fiction. :D many cheers and w00ts for Tolkien.

I wasn't sad that the movies were over, really...I was excited, I think. There might be The Hobbit coming soon, and I still love watching the movies - in no way have they gotten old or overly familiar. RPG are good, too! And fan fiction. There's so much material to work with!
