After reading in a magazine that "the Borgias" would be a nice successor to Showtime's "the Tudors", I decided to give it a try. I love costume drama's anyway, and the thought of Jeremy Irons as corrupt Pope at the start of the 16th century sounded quite interesting.
Last week I finished the last episode of the second season, and I am very much looking forward to the next season! The costumes looked great, the characters were quite believable and the time setting is also very interesting (the various city-regions of Italy at their height, what's not to love?)
Has anyone else watched this? What did you think of it?
But I think it depends on what you would classify as a lot. Yes, there are some sex scenes, but not as much as in the Tudors and certainly not as much as in Game of Thrones, if that is any consolation.
