Oh... I heard yesterday that Will becoming the next Davy Jones wasn't going to happen, that it was a false spoiler. I hate calling PotR into question, but... any light on that?

i was listening to the radio and they said that filming had just finished and that they're definately thinking about Pirates 4 and 5...if they do do it, Johnny has said that he will probably do them..

so the rumours about Will beciming captain of the FD are fake? Not sure if i should be relieved or angry, i think relieved...

AF, might I ask where you heard it? I don't have any problem with my spoilers being questioned, as what I know is limited by my own sources and can therefore be less than accurate at times.

However, also know that there is a difference between something happening and something staying. I never said that Will permanently remained captain of the Dutchman, because the only people that know are those who worked on the film (and they're not supposed to tell) or have a good friend who worked on the film (and they just won't tell). I honestly don't know exactly how AWE will end...yet. I also never said that he became the next Davy Jones. In fact, I said he didn't -to the furthest extent of my knowledge- become like Davy Jones in any aspect other than captaining the Dutchman. They're two very different things. Drawing on the analogy I made a while ago about spoiler hunting being like working a jigsaw puzzle without a picture, I'm only just starting to fill in the inside pieces. They've been sorted according to relevance and compared to other pieces, but there's still plenty of room for surprises.

Just bear in mind that I'm by no means above any of y'all as far as credibility goes. I have the same sources, the same sites, and the same amount of free time to spend on spoiler-hunting every day. The only difference is that I have more experience. I know which sources are most trustworthy, which sites have connections with which insiders (and therefore what nature of spoilers I might be looking for on said sites), and how to get stuff the fastest. There's also a healthy dose of luck and being in the right place at the right time involved. I've also been tracking AWE since months before DMC came out, and I know what hints to listen for. For those who haven't listened to the writers' commentary on the DMC DVD yet, I strongly recommend it. There are countless answers in there, so long as you know the questions being asked.



And yes, I know...it's a sign of the apocalypse when I change my siggy. But with the release of the DMC DVD and access to all the screencaps I could ever want (plus a rather boring Friday afternoon after exams ended), I went on a graphic-making frenzy and just couldn't resist using them.
Plus I wanted to better match the lovely new bluish theme.

I like your new siggy, potr. Anyways, I'm not quite sure yet if I want a 4 or 5. Without Will and Elizabeth (possibly), I don't think one would be that good.

Naturally I totally don't believe any of that junk. And Toby stated, on another thread, that that was "all lies." So my question is, was he meaning that any idea of Will becoming at all like Davy is a lie, or that he meant that way of Will being like Davy was a lie? I mean, it's quite possible that, as you said, Will could captain the Dutchman without becoming Davy Jones... so I guess really how much was Toby disclaiming?

Junk to be sure. That sounds more like a chaotic hodgepodge of unconnected things happening than a movie. I think that 'all lies' is a pretty strong disclaimer, and I would say that it probably meant Will DOESN'T become the next captain, if I weren't talking to potr, and I didn't know that you've probably found information to back the whole Will story up

Pirateoftherings, I remeber you saying that. Well, I'm glad that Will won't actually become Davey Jones. I mean, Like him in that way (least as far as we know for the time being). I just wouldn't be able to bear that. As I've said picket signs.
By the way I love your new banner and signature. My favorite picture is the one where it shows Will and it says an act of compassion. That's so my favorite scene.

As far as the rumors of a 4th and 5th Potc...I would love that so long as they kept Will and Jack and maybe even the would need to keep Elizabeth. However I read on one site that there is a rumor going around that Keira Knightlky said that after the 3rd one she was finished with PotC (in short) and something about moving on . If she said that I think that that's pretty, uh...not nice of her. I mean that movie has pretty well made her a houshold name. (sigh) I hate it when actors or actresses leave what made them. I just don't think that that's right.

Altariel Frodo, I don't believe that either. Well, I might could beleive part of it but some of it's just...seems far fetched. Plus ever since I heard how people would play around with the IMDB users I don't beleive much off of that site. None the less though, thank you for posting that for us. It's very fun to read.

Oh dear goodness not that one...*headdesk* I read that "summary" several months ago (back before DMC was even out) and...good grief. It's the most ridiculous thing I've ever read. I went through and crossed out everything that I know to be false, which left only two spoilers that still seemed more like lucky guesses than anything from being in-the-know. The first one I only left because I wasn't sure what they meant and it kinda resembled a true spoiler that I know. The second one (about Will), I left because, unless something has drastically changed since some of my sources found stuff out (or they're lying through their teeth), it's true.

Concerning Toby's response, I think that it was a very general response. Given that over 90% of it was complete hooey (and the fact that Toby never gives specific spoilers), I think it makes a lot more sense for him to simply say "all lies" than say "All lies...oh except for one sentence about Will." He's too mean to give us something that easy. And I may still be wrong, but, as Jack would say, "All evidence to the contrary."

If I may ask, where exactly on the site did you find it? If memory serves me, we had that discussion many, many months ago. Was it brought back up, or did you go digging?

That is soooo weird.

Hey i also read that too! and my teacher showed someting to me on the internet that Orlando doesn't want to do Will Turner anymore and they might kill him off of PotC!!!!! that so totally sucks! does anyone know if he is still going to play Will and if he's going to die or not??

See, that is rather what I was thinking. I was never outright saying "I have completely ruled the possibility of Will captaining the Flying Dutchman out." I was just making sure.

It was started several months ago, but apparently someone posted on it a few weeks ago, because it was only about half-way down the page.

So, pretty much at this point here's what I am thinking: Will is very possibly going to captain the dutchman, but not going to be really evil or turn into a squid.

And my brain is fried right now, so this post is really lame.

Lady of Taniquetil, Oh, yes. I have read part of what you're talking about as well. The last that I read on that was that Will being killed off was Not true. It said that some Brittish magazine and "insiders" were the ones who stated that that rumor was false. However there is still speculation on that. Least wise that's the information that I have that subject. Does anybody else have anymore information on this?
As far for what Orlando said....I'm not sure that I've came across that. If you can remeber (sometimes I forget my sources so maybe you do too) where did you read what Orlando said?
If that is true then I agreee....that sucks!

Haven't the writers confirmed that none of the main three die? I don't think we have to worry about that.
