Ah, but you also don't have to worry about being able to finish a film. As others have pointed out, the studio simply won't let them even try certain stunts. If a stunt double breaks his leg jumping out of a burning building, they can find another (not undermining the importance of stunt doubles, but it's true). But if Jack Davenport breaks a leg, he's out of comission until it heals, which dramatically sets back production and costs the studio millions of dollars. You can't simply say "Okay, call in the other James Norrington and have him do the rest of his scenes." Jack Davenport is James Norrington, and is therefore a one-of-a-kind asset that the studio must protect at all costs. It's not necessarily a matter of bravery, but rather a matter of logic and practicality.
I think you'd be amazed at how few stunts the other actors did, too. Even Jack Sparrow's amazing swan dive in CotBP (when he saves Elizabeth) was performed by his stunt double.

I know. I'm in the same boat there mate.
I didn't mean to start such a blazing discussion! I'm sorry if I'm making you all mad at me, that was not at all my intention... and no, it's not like I expect anyone to do all their stunts, whatever I am I am not ignorant as to how the movie world works. I realize that they're not even allowed to do a lot of it, even if they wanted to/could. I also realize that it's not like the others did everything.
And like I said, Jack Davenport's personality, from what little I've seen so far, does actually seem fairly nice... as actors go, of course. He just seems vaguely... girly to me. But like I said, I can agree to disagree on this and back away. I don't intend to flame anybody, and I'd rather not be flamed.

Banana Republic, Well, I am not saying that I know all of what the actors and actresses did or didn't do but from what I have heard and seen Jack Davenport seemed to do the least out of the group. As far as the stunts being ahrder than they look, I will agree that they probabley but I still would have tried as many as i thought that I physicaly could.
Ah, so he indeed does have a stunt double...thank you for the information.
Well, I am a fan of Orlando's and I do not let the fact of Orlando's popularity effect wheither or not I like him. I decide my opinion of him based on my thoughts of him and not on the thoughts of others.
~RinielAranel~ Yes, indeed. If you say that you're fan of his you are labled a fan girl (rolls eyes) Personaly though it doesn't really bother me all that much. At times I admire him just for his acting skillls (which I honestly believe that he has). Though at other times I am a bit of a fan girl and I am proud and not afraid to admit it. However I don't like it when fan girls are protrayed as idiots. I am very proud of where I stand when it comes to beign a fan of Orlando's. Sorry if went off topic there.
Pirateoftherings,Very good points and I totally get the acotrs not doing the ones that they were not allowed to do ans such but I think that the majority of the ones that they could they still should have done. (shrugs) Just my opinion.
Altariel Frodo, Don't worry about it.

^I do the same mate. I've done my fair share of flaming, in my early internet days...
So, can we move on to a new topic?...

He is such a great character. People always say that Davy Jones has so much suffering, just because it's the most obvious, but Bootstrap has had just as much, or even more, I think. He leaves his wife and only son, undergoes the torture of being cursed, he is sent down "to the crushin' black oblivion of Davy Jones' Locker," he has to watch his body become more and more unhuman, whips his son, serve under Davy Jones, and sacifices his freedom for his son.
I think I covered most of the major stuff, but I'm not quite sure.

Oh yesh. I am a shameless Bootstrap (and Barbossa) platonic fangirl.
He's especially fun for me as a writer and roleplayer. So much angsty goodness!

The first PotC poems I ever wrote were on Bootstrap and Will's relationship.
Bootstrap is such a tragic character... I pretty much fell in love with him, so to speak, from the time I first read the junior novelization of DMC about a month before it came out. What I like is that, even though he's been through so much, he still has some compassion. He and Will kind of look out for each other, even though you would think Bootstrap would be corrupted and Will unforgiving.

^Here here! I also admire Bootstrap for not allowing himself to wallow in self-pity and angst like Davy did and getting so swallowed up in it that he lost all compassion and kindness. Some people think that strength is shown through heartlessness, but I think that it is shown by retaining character, no matter how hard.

It's Davy. I'm right and Pip is wrong
Seriously, though, it's Davy. Davey Jones was a singer. Davy Jones is the devil of the seas.

It always annoys me slightly when people spell it Davey - it says in my music book that his song is called Davy Jones, and Davy Jones Plays His Organ, so it must be Davy. That's not half as bad as when a person at my group piano class was evaluating me and spelled the song I was playing "Davi Jones". I mean, I ask you. She spelled my name wrong, too.
